smiley - biggrinThat's why I like having a Cinematheque membership - the student membership costs about as much as 10 regular movie tickets, and you can get into any movie for free. smiley - ok
Granted, I haven't been there for a long time now...

Well you see, that's just the thing about the membership. Going to see a movie isn't that much of a big deal, because it's all for free anyway. So you can sorta experiment, just go and check out something that sounds like it might be interesting (a Swedish comedy? Why not? A forgotten detective film from the 50s? Could be neat!)...

It's not a matter of age, just of what you like. I enjoy this, because otherwise I probably wouldn't see many movies at all. My brother had a membership, and decided not to get one this year because he didn't really use it.

Ya see, that's what wouldn't do a lot for us. It's not that we don't enjoy the theatre, ... It's just that we seldom think of it, and so it doesn't fit in to our times and things. Just not our life-style.

But I do know what you mean about enjoying a 'surprise' ... I like flipping through the TV selections on a later Saturday evening, and just watching what-ever I land on. It's kinda like the Dirk Gently driving method, ... You may not get where you expected to, but invariably it proves interesting. smiley - smiley

Ah, but that's what I'm saying; I wouldn't have been very interested if I didn't have the option to just go like that... 'no strings attached', so to speak.

*shrug*
Ah well. smiley - smiley As long as you enjoy what you do, what does it matter?

I see. And agreed, if you don't enjoy what you're doing, then it's really time to be doing something else. smiley - smiley

I figured it was time for a dusting of the thread again. So "Hi ya", young Lady.

I see another count-down is name-tagged. Who's off to where this time, if I may ask?

Oh! smiley - dohSorry. Hi there. smiley - hug

Anyway, yup, new countdown. smiley - biggrinI'll be going there end of August.
It's all on Dan's journal... has your off-topic tolerance level become so low that you've unsubscribed before finding out all the details? smiley - tongueout

I followed the journal, saw a date time frame without any explanation, and then a handful of posts that meant nothing (in English, to an outsider). So I left the pair of you to what-ever you were alluding to.

Between that, and this, I gather you are coming to this continent then, eh? Please do wave if you find yourself over the eastern half. smiley - smiley

Pft. smiley - tongueout

You haven't been reading it, have you?
Just lookie here!

Dan: >>And if all goes well, I'll be getting a visitor towards the end of Summer.smiley - loveblush<<

-->
Me: >>smiley - loveblushIt'll go well. I'll work this out<<

-->
Dan:
>>yeah Nick, good coffee, too.

From Israel. Just like my guest better be.<<

-->
And then I give the dates right there.

And then smiley - ermyeah, we did go pretty weird, I agree.
smiley - laughsmiley - rofl
Ah well.

Anyway, as I said, I'll be going there. smiley - loveblushVery excited about that.
Not really gonna be on the eastcoast, though... I do fly Air Canada, so have a connection through Toronto, which is sorta east (compared to Vancouver anyway, where my other connection is), but I won't be spending much time there.
*shrug*
Maybe sometime.

My hootoo times are usually just after a shower, ... say 5:15 am. Maybe a few minutes at noon, ... And then as I am building supper. So the focus and the "reading between the lines" is never great. I am sorry to have missed what now looks sorta obvious.

You can be sure that I am happy for you to find the time, resources and getting to this continent. And hey, Toronto is only 2 hours driving west of me. So if you throw out a really, REALLY huge wave, I just might see it. smiley - laugh

smiley - laughYeah, if you've been reading h2g2 at 5am, I can understand that...

As for the Toronto thing, well like I said, don't have too much time there coming in; on my way back I have quite a long connection there, but doubt if I'd be in the mood to meet people. smiley - erm

Oh no worries there, m'dear. I'm not likely to drive a half-dozen hours round trip, to a city I detest, navigate an airport road-system, all for a coupla minutes of "Hi, how ya doing" sorta thing ...

My good Lady, I've the hide of a rhino. It takes a lot more than you are likely capable of.

Mind you, I am a bit pouty at the moment. I've a lovely blue h2g2 t-shirt that a friend sent me from the Winter Meet. And after loads of garden and flower-bed works, I've got it dirty. It's SUPPOSED to be my relaxing-day shirt, and it didn't happen. smiley - wah

Yeah, I know, ain't life tough, smiley - huh?

smiley - tongueoutNah, that's good dirt. And gardening can be quite relaxing.

*ahem* Slinging the shovels, wheel-barrow, axe and such isn't the most relaxing. In a couple of weeks, when the risk of frost is mostly passed, the plantings and such ... Now THAT is easy on the body and mind. As well as the occassional weedings and trimmings as the summer goes on.

Every year, milady has a "twitch" for change, and I come up with different bed placements, arrangements and such. Between us, we never have quite the same yard from year to year. It's fun and nice at the same time. smiley - smiley

Fine fine, maybe not relaxing then... but you know you enjoyed it. smiley - tongueout

The nice thing about working in the garden is how it keeps changing. Even if you don't actively make changes, it's never the same, because it's a living thing. smiley - smiley

Oh you bet. Right now, it's all freshly worked and enriched soil. But another couple of weeks, the colours go in, others will work up from their winter sleep. And then the real enjoyment goes on for several months. The actual labours before and during are really very small compared to the satisfaction of a flourishing array.

Last year, we had freakishly hot weather in June already, that stunted our tree-leaf growth, and burnt off many perrenials. Hopefully this year will be milder. And then you'll find a couple of piccies coming down the wires. Our house in the summer. smiley - smiley

My mum really loves working in the garden. In this flat, we have a pretty big area of garden, relatively - and unlike the old flat, it isn't commune with other flats. So she has a lot of fun with it. smiley - smiley

She's working with a gardener, but also does a lot of things on her own. Some time ago, she was coming back from the plant nursery with some more plants, as she does almost every week... so when out gardener saw that, he exclaimed 'Did your husband know about this problem of yours before you got married?!'
