Hello spiderbaby,
Thanks for your welcome - I look forward to having my brain stretched in the near future.
Hello again penjen, thanks for yours also.

Sooooo. Who are we still waiting for? Is Havago around?
Enig and Weaver, stop arguing.

the fat gardener Posted Jan 19, 2005
Re lovely Enig - I was pleasantly surprised with a 6.5 - as I knew my story was average at best this time (no passion). I thought there were a couple of really good stories this time - and my favourite had excellent, original, sparkly phrases, but didn't quite hang together at the end. And what about all the portrayal of raw emotion in Looby's and extreme sadness in Lynda's. I think we have improved over the challenges but expect more from each other (not a bad thing).

Well - my two penny'orth coming. First - in fairness to niggy - even though he is prone to the odd strop now and then (aren't we all) he always says what he thinks and is honest. I agree that the works this time were probably on average 1 point under par this time - and that definately includes mine which was depressing and lack lustre. The one that stood out to me was Lynda's.
I think Christmas/New Year etc took our conscentration a little this time. Anyway, let's get a couple good ones at least in before D day.
Welcome to stat. BTW - I think you should all have a butchers at his poem - Thank you for Calling - it's excellent.
Maybe we shouldn't let him in the next challenge.....a strong one there methinks!!!!!
Must go - work to do....
luv

MRSLooRoll,

Oh go on let me have a go at the next one anyway!

Lordy. I shall address all comments re me...
Weaver: I said we may as well give it to looby... and? It was an observation because she was running away with it. Must you resort to petty insults because I voiced an opinion you disagree with? I hardly think I deserve that. You think the stories were as good as ever, I, however, disagree. Why that deserves mud (or s**t) slinging, I cannot fathom. I was in a good mood last night, as it happens.
Spidey: I haven't even started arguing, thanks.
Fats: Thanks for a rational reply.
Looby: Thanks for a rational reply.
I wasn't rude in how I made my opinion known, I stated it and explained it. I even stressed how it wasn't a bad bunch of stories, just an average bunch, thus the worst I can remember as the standard is usually higher. If I was reacting due to my losing as Weaver suggested, which isn't new nor unexpected, surely I would've reacted much worse last time when I scored much lower than this time? Wouldn't logic dictate that as my scores were lower, my "strops" would be worse? Why would I get in a strop about scoring quite highly this time, with a consistent scoring of 8s? I'm actually not that far behind Looby, so why that would upset me I'm not sure. Perhaps I'm being judged by others standards?
Anywho, as I said, onward, upward, etc.
P.S. You're welcome, one and all, to message me and ask for the reason behind my scoring. A few of you may receive similar reasons, though.
Hello
karjon Posted Jan 19, 2005
I've tallied up the scores so far - anyone want to know, or will we wait for the last result and official scorers tally?

I'll go get the mop.

Sorry Antboy and Weaver. Was just thinking to pre empt what might have been an argument. Call me Ma and make me a nice cup of tea.
Do you all want the scores as they stand? If so would Karjon be kind and post them? Not sure what's happened to Haveago. We can always readjust it later. Think it's time we got on with the next one really.
Sixty words this time?

100 words for me.
I see no reason for going back to 60, so I'd welcome a reason from a pro-60er.

Hello..calling the 8 legged oracle...
Loobyloo Posted Jan 19, 2005
Spidey - could you please clarify something?
I have been, shall we say, a little berated by niggy as my offering wasn't a 'story'.
Does the piece have to be that, with a beginning - middle - end etc or can it be a self contained descriptive passage, statement of opinion etc etc.
I will bide by whatever rules.....
I'm easy.....Oh....you've heard.....
