Sock faffing is an old tradition of picking the lumpy fluffy bits out of the sock and creating a small pile of mess around yourself.

I got given a pair of stripey feet gloves for Christmas once, with little toey fingers for each toe.

I haven't watched Newsnight in a while - I'd forgotten quite how grumpy Jeremy Paxman can be He was doing the full huffing and puffing and eye-rolling all the way through and then he signed off as though he was in a big fumey sulk

I saw an interview that he did with Rowling sometime ago. He was a bit grumpy about Potter. Did he do that look of "Oh ... I can't be bothered to talk to you anymore"?

Many, many times To be fair, he does save the really big grumps for liars and cheats and despots and so on
