I too don't have a off line list2 month back, I had to wipe windows xp off and reinstall, all email stuff was lost

i hope i dont have to reformat or i,ll never be able to replace stuff i had, the links to my 3-d alone would be a disaster.

i have rob my lodger he well up one pc,s but hes away till at least the 4th, and i,ll probably be going to town in the morning of the 4th.

one as moved to austrlia, another asnt been on for over 6 weeks, the rest where all telepest,and must have got fedup of using the long way on.

im on a thing called talk unlimited so i can ring any 01 02 03 numbers and it wont cost me a penny, ive prepaid for all standard rate calls.

still cant get my pc up and running, the windows have froozen me out.

ive just rang to see if the shop i go to is open, but looks like he,s taking today off like many.

i was planning to go next door to use my mates pc, to check my forums and let them know im off for now, and to acsess my account on blueyonder emails, which i can with my password, but alans in bed ill.

when you get it fixed, I hope that the cost is low, Pinky and a lot more have gone from hootoo, due to telepest set up

pinky shpould be able to get in same as me, but the way we have to get on, is like a backdoor.

and it as a timeout limit(if you dont get on in say two mins)it throws you back to a text called betsie.

i have the d40000, its a bit better than the old 1000 2000,boxes.

there are times when i cant get in,without trying three or four times.

yep no prblems when pc is off, i have the tv active emails

im back on pc, it cost me £50 to get it repared, but i have sound at last and a new hard drive.jim

boot volume caused the hard drive to fail completely.

might be taking my tower for a spring clean soon, I bought 2 more ram memory cards and they overheat, I sprayed contacts for dust etc, but was informed after, by bruv in law, not to use WD40too late, so I think it needs professional cleaning

im using tw, as ive just done what few emails i had, still nothing from pinky.

a tip a friend told me on how the clean dusk out of the tower.

get a peice of quater inch plastic tubing.and blow the dust out like using a hoover in reverse

as mine is a desktop, i only need to lift the cover towards me to get to the inards.

pc,s still going but ive a reg key mesage keeps coming up, it must have been when i had to connect to the internet,as till its got some kind of antivir the windows are vunerable.

do you know the sequence to active the sound, if i need to reformat sometime again.

as till now, its never had sound, and the shop put it on,and gave me a backup disc if needed.
but if the windows are all thats needed in the future the drivers should he said just need to be activated.jim

no idea about sound Jim,it should have a sound card in, has it got windows media player on, because a lot of web programs etc need that to be able to play sounds/music.
Also, you could try looking in the "settings"and there could be some sort of wizard you could use, to check sound

pc as been slow all day today

ive rang the shop an hour ago, i need a c#disc for reg repair, its when you have to contact onto internet, that the pc is vunrable to viruses.

so ive a few reg key faults, ive cleared tw or three trogans.

that is bad news about the tower, after all that trouble, with the insurers/time getting it back etc. Is there no way you can claim for mishandling/damages on it.
