Austin Powers night at school, eh? Why would you need to find something to wear? You all don't dress like that all the time? smiley - winkeye Just kidding. Glad to hear everything is going well.

You are gonna think I am utterly insane, but that's just icing on the cake, so here goes. I had a dream the other night. ...Involving a bunnyrabbit named Mittens. Awww. So I have to ask, whatever became of your rabbit? Someone taking care of it? Hope so. Cause if I have another dream about it, that will be the point of no return.

For me, still in Portland, writing quite a bit. When my travels are done, I think I may move here. Got the Northwest feel, but not nearly as much rain as Seattle. Who can say. Nice town. Nice people.

Well, have fun, but don't party too hard. You'd hate to have to quit going and join the Navy. Trust me.

Talk to you later.

Yes, groovy baby indeed! Lol! The Austin Powers night was pretty fun. It was kinda just a general 60s/70s night really. Some guy was dressed as Elvis with a wig and stupid glasses and everything, it was soooo funny!

Omg, it's suddenly started chucking it down with rain! We just came back from town about ten minutes ago, how lucky was that?! There are some really cool shops in town, but they're so expensive which is annoying because we're impoverished students now!!

There's a girl who lives on my corridor who's American. I think she's originally from Minnesota but she went to school in Wisconsin and she's studying here for one semester.

That's really weird about your dream! My rabbit is at home still with my mum, my dad, and my sister. I gather she's just fine, lol!

Don't worry - I haven't been partying too hard! Last night we were all pretty tired and one girl on my corridor is really ill with Freshers' flu so we stayed in and watched videos! It was fun!

Anyway, I'll see ya later. Hope everything is going well with you,

Ali

Stupid glasses? Elvis never wore glasses, let alone stupid glasses. Trust me, seen his house. Now, you dig into the 70's archives of one John, Sir Elton... there ya go.

Well glad to hear the Mittens issue is resolved. Had me worried...

Minnesoter, eh? Ask if she's been to Sheboygen. She should say yes. If you've been to Wiscansen (not so much the spelling as it is the pronounciation...) then you've been to Sheboygen.

Well, stay dry. And keep out of the rain, too... right. I gotta get some sleep. After Denny's. L8r

Hey, mornin'. ...For me anyway. Blessed sleeplessnesss. How's school going? Hope all OK. I'm not bad. Still blowing money in Portland. Saw Kill Bill the other day. Couple more pros and cons about a trip to Japan after THAT one. And a couple new career choices, but otherwise I'm still writing and, what's the opposite of not sleeping, staying awake all the time. Swerve.

Hi Claeys,

Really sorry I haven't replied for ages, I kind of, er... forgot. Oops, sorry!! I've been pretty busy I guess, University is hard work!! Lol. And the thing about living in halls of residence is there's always someone around to talk to. Which is good, but quite distracting!

We went out to a club last night which was really fun! Everyone got pretty drunk which was rather amusing! And last Monday we went out to a different club and I didn't buy a single drink because it was my birthday and sooo many people were buying me drinks, it was ridiculous!! Lol. So that was quite funny too!

We were going to go on a bike ride today because you can hire bikes from the university pretty cheaply, but it turns out that the place you have to hire them from is the student union and it's closed on a Sunday! D'oh! Plus it was quite cold anyway so we decided just to stay in!

Some of the girls on my floor have gone out to the cinema tonight with the guys from downstiars to see Kill Bill, and some others have gone to the JCR to watch David Blaine coming out of his box! I couldn't be bothered tho cos I'm soooo tired. Probably from last night, but there you go!

What have you been up to recently? Still in Portland or have you moved on now? How's the writing going? And how is the insomnia? Hope you're ok. Speak soon,

Ali

Hey Ali

Glad to hear things are going Ok for you. Birthday? Hello!? Hope it went well. You remember it?

I don't want to sound like anyone who knows anything, but school is your priority. Take care of that first, then get blind drunk.

Speaking of which, yeah still in Portland. Still writing. Erased everything I had the other day and re-wrote it. Did that a couple more times. Then went and got stupid, erased and re-wrote everything. The idea was to screen out all the stuff that wasn't important. Just get the good stuff. After that, went out and hit the bars again. When I came back, I tried to read the thing, but none of it made any sense at all. Almost as if it wasn't written by me. I have a kind of distinctive style, but this was weird. So I got drunk. Then it made sense. Odd, that.

In other news. Got some sleep last night. I was at a bar downtown, and missed the bus so I walked home. To the motel, anyway. On the way, I passed a college district and found a party. I let myself in and had a good time. Got into a good conversation with some chick, then I got thrown down the stairs. Staggered back up to find out what happened. Got beat up by a pack of angry fratboys, then thrown back down the stairs again. Zombied out and found a nice ditch to lie down in. Woke up a while later and the sun was just going down. That was weird, cause it was just coming up when I hit the ditch...

Anyway, everybody is nice to you when you limp around with a black eye, but no one wants to talk about it. It's kinda funny. I've been trying to get people to ask me about it, but nobody seems to want to notice. Got lots of free drinks, though. From now on I'm going to get beat up once a week.

Well, gotta make a phonecall, so see you around.

Bruised and confused.

Yes I remember my birthday thank you very much!! Lol, I did get bought a fair number of drinks but I wasn't *completely* drunk! Unlike one of the guys upstairs whose b'day it was yesterday. They all came home at about 12 (relatively early we all thought) and was *absolutely* out of it. It was pretty funny really. Although he did nearly fall out of the window several times....

You got thrown down the stairs twice?! Omg, no wonder you slept - you were probably knocked out!! Ah well, at least you got some free drinks out of it - that's always good!

I have a 2000 word essay to write on the contributions to the East Asian Economic Miracle!! smiley - yikes Scary! I have all these books out of the library and they're so hard to read. smiley - yawn And my sister's coming up to visit me next week so I'm not gonna get any work done then either! Still, I'm sure I'll manage somehow.... she says!! smiley - laugh

Speak to ya later,

Ali smiley - rainbow

Hey, 2000 words. When is that due? Which begs the question, what are you doing here? Good grief, I've never heard of the East Asian Economic Miracle. I'd ask you to tell me what it was (is) but you have to do that for someone else first. Though I am curious to find out how it pertains to geography...

Crap, I gotta go. Seeing a movie with a friend. Get back to work! And say hi to your sister for me! smiley - evilgrin

Yes, good question - what am I doing here? Why aren't I at the bar?! Lol, no, I have done some work today... honest!

My essay's due in in two weeks. Not too bad I guess. Basically the East Asian Economic Miracle just relates to the fact that countries like South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia etc had really fast economic growth a few years ago. Like you know how everything you buy says "Made in... one of those countries"?! So yeah, I have to write about why that happened - fun! It's relevant to human geography - economics, demographics etc... are you still awake?!

Lol anyway, I'll leave you to it,

Ali

Yo kid! Sounds like you're getting off to a great start there. That was always my answer, too. "I have done some work today... honest!" Yeah, good times. And look at me now...

Naw, I'm sure you can handle it.

I guess I have to say thankyou. One glance at all that economy stuff...blam. No more insomnia! I was out like a light. No, actually, I think that stuff is kinda cool. I've been reading lots of advertising fiction lately. Jennifer Government...Awesome book.

Anyway, yeesh, those Asian Markets sure are something, eh? There's one just down the street where I go to pick up fresh seafood. Boys are bankin' out! Hmm? What? Huh, where am I? Ahem.

Well, I gotta get going. MXC is almost on, and I can't do anything else when it's on. Like breathe.

Hiya, how are you today? I'm just killing time before my mum and my sister get here. My sister's visiting for a few days and my mum's just bringing her up. I think we're going out for pizza which should be good. *Hopefully* my mum will be paying which will be even better!!

So yes, my room's the tidiest it's been since I arrived!! Lol. And her being here means I'm not going to get any of my essay done this week.... AND I've just started a new guide entry (well, rescued one from the flea market anyway) which is much more entertaining than my geography essay. Even though it is very geographical, but still! That's not the point!!

Catch ya later,

Ali

Other than THAT, I'm good. Been reading a book called Altered Carbon. Kind of a mix between cyberpunk and film noir. Like Bogart meets the Matrix. Anyhoo, Does your family know you should be doing school work? Hm? That's okay, that's what the last minute is for, right? I always did my best work in a pressure environment. There were times when I would miss the first half of class because I was printing a paper due in the second half. Then there were times when I would miss the first half of class because I woke up in a ditch somewhere...

Well, 2000 words really isn't that much. Some of my profs started setting a max for me because I would give them thirty pages and they're all a bunch of lazy ghents. I like to write, I just don't like writing things that other people are supposed to like. I only really write for me. Hence the problems I've been having becoming an author. Whatever.Swerve.

Hey Ali, you're up awfully early. ...eight hours difference...*oh, I guess it's just me. Cool. So how's Jimbo doing? He enjoy your campus, or prefer his own? Or was he too sick to make it? Hope all is well. I've been a bit sick myself. Getting over it. Later!
