It was really hard. The defense of Argentina worked very well.

Well I'm not but that was a lot closer than I thought.
Both sides missed opportunities and I'm glad Germany won in extra time because wins on penalties only feel like half a win.

I agree, it doesn't feel like a deserved win if you win on penalties.

I rather thought Messi had not been trying too hard, in fact when he hit that free kick over the bar in the last few moments he actually smiled until he realised the camera was on him, then he dropped his face. He also didn't look as gutted as his team mates afterwards. I'm going to miss the glut of football and tennis, my two favourite sports. I just wish I'd had a bet on Germany before the tournament commenced, as I picked them to winIan picked Argentina on account of "the best footballer in the world, Messi"

Just returned from a week long holiday sitting house for a couple of friends. It rained cats, dogs, bicycle spokes and whatnots and suddenly the electrickery was gone

Fortunately this happened hours *after* the final which Germany won deservedly .

I think Arjen Robben was the best player of these finals but admitting to taking a dive probably cost him that title.

Looking forward to the European Cup in France in 2016. Hopefully both Denmark and Germany will take part in that

Funny, now that it's all over I hardly think of it any more. It was quiet here, very few people on the roads honking their horns. Probably because it was pretty late.

It was nice to have some people hereto talk to, though.
