Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Apr 12, 2009
some of the first scenes from the first star war film were shot in morocco. seems even more appropriate now

years ago, 5 err youths (who were popped upslang - drunk)were after me because I was in the wrong place etc, but bluff came in to mind and I ACTED drunk, saying I'm looking for my mates as its their round
.These 5 toured the town with me, buying my
all night(I kept away from the ones I knew my mates would travel)and as last orders called
I found them - the 5 went on the merry way, happy that I'd finally found my mates for their round

Never found any Moroccan wine, I don't think (Elektra might remember), but we used to drink Tunisian wine, which was quite nice.

i'm told the tunisians pick all the grapes off the vines before squashing them and then store the wine in earthenware jars instead of oak casks. because of this there is no tannic acid in the wine and even people with migraine can enjoy it

That seems a little suspect. Wouldn't wine with no tannins be very bland? Usually it's that other thing that gives headaches. Sulfites I think it's called.
How did we get from common dyslexia to wine? Oh... never mind.

well, that's just not what i've been told. my ex-sis-in-law swears to tunisian wine.
not that i care much, i'm too old to get hangovers anyway

let me see if i get this right: if you and hstwrd agree i am outnumbered and you have voted away migraine?
in that case, could you please vote away a bit of gravity as well?

There once were two ants in Westphalia
Who wanted to go to Australia.
But cursing their feet
In a Belgian street
They gave up the trip as a failya.
Ringelnatz
A combination of Keats, Yeats, and Shelley - a Napkinland joke?

Thought this HAD to be Napkinland. Makes no sense at all on the right thread.

that was the exact rhyme that sprang to my mind when i read the name ringelnatz, jab
very well translated/re-created it is too
here's the original version (off the top of my head so may not be 100 % accurate):
in hamburg war'n mal zwei ameisen
die wollten nach australien reisen
in altona auf der chaussee
da taten ihnen die beine weh
und so verzichteten sie weise
dann auf den letzten teil der reise

You may have looked it up the meantime, B'El, but tannin is the same in German, isn't it? The German word is Gerbsäure.
