Webbie, a Dingsbums is our word for 'Thingummywotsit' - if I had known what it was, I'd have written it down. smiley - laugh

There were plaques beneath all the exhibits telling you what they were etc. Unfortunately, they chose a font that looks like an old handwriting. It was so difficult for me to decipher the text, that I didn't bother with it anymore after one or two attempts.
Maybe you aren't meant to read it. smiley - erm

Love the photos!

That garden sounds like a cool place to visit. Though I probably wouldn't want to walk around in bare feet in 9°C temperatures (which, with shoes on, is nice weather for me- I'm beginning to think I might be part penguin, honestly!), it could be fun. Are the surfaces you're meant to walk on really bumpy? My feet are so ticklish I can't even walk on my front door mat in bare feet. smiley - silly

The surfaces were very different - small pebbles (like some beaches have), cobblestone, faggots, treetrunks, pieces of rock, stumps, marble, pavement, they even had a grid there....

I've been on one of those - it even involved fording a wide, but shallow river with slippery rocks, though I bet they leave that out in this weather smiley - laugh

Oh, it was - I don't recall the last time I walked through mud with bare feet - when it squishes between your toes - it's a sensation to behold. smiley - biggrin

Oooh, great. If ever you want to look up a German word, LEO (Learn English Online) is a very good online dictionary:

Thank you B'El. I have a smattering of French but not German. My sons both did it though.

MMF - Keeper of Mustelids, with added P.M.A., is now in a relationship.

B'Elana, I am really pleased you had a good time, and that you did go, after all.

Isn't it peculiar how we dread attending something, then when we get there, find it isn't as bad as we expected.

I get it before every Meet, and afterwards I wonder why I felt that way.

The same happens at the annual Broadstairs Folk Festival. I start slowly then, by the end, I wish it could continue, and that I hadn't been so slow getting involved!

Thank you for letting us share the experience, and the photos.

You are right, MMF, I often don't want to go somewhere (because I'm too lazy, or not really in the mood), then when I go, I find it's actually nice. However, if I go somehwere absolutely against my will, I end up sulking and finding it all just plain horrible, being very annoyed with myself for not having stood my ground. I have now decided that I will NOT go anywhere anymore just because somebody else wants me to when I *really* don't want to go.
I've always wanted to go to Castle Freudenberg, I just wasn't too sure about part of the company, but my colleagues assured me they'd 'be' with me, so it was OK. smiley - smiley

Yes, it was, despite the rain and the cold.
And we were lucky that we had no rain while being in the garden, because when we where in the cars to drive to the restaurant, it chucked it down again. smiley - laugh

Tumsup

-Goodness, I would love to see one of those myself-

Have you tried making wine glasses sing while you're doing the washup. I think it's the same principle. You can even play a song with enough glasses and you tune them by putting varying amounts of water in each one. When they sing really loud, the water jumps out.smiley - musicalnote
