Maybe it's like 'mirror'. Many Americans pronounce that in one syllable.

We have the expert here. Jordan, is that done throughout the USA, or is it more regional?

Bah, expert.
Personally, I pronounce the word with two syllables, as 'mirr-or', but I know other people in the midwest who say 'mir'. I think most Southerners would say 'mir'. Beyond that, I don't really know.

On the Pacific coast where I lived, it was more like mir-r. Not really "mirror", but the r on the end of "mir" was said twice

Has anyone had a look at the guide ml yet?
I think I've read somewhere that it has to be in capitals (the reason for which escapes me). Then there are all those tags to be exchanged, plus there are hardly any links.
Oh well, that's my Sunday sorted, so no RR next week.

B'Elana, for this sort of entry, I'd recommend taking a week, and not subbing anything else in that week.

I'll see what I can do. No point in doing anything if I'm tired, and I don't have any other entries at the moment, so will only ask for more once I think I've done everything I possibly could do with htis one. I'm not sure about the tags, either, maybe I'll look into how to do it in tables, like in the constellation entries. It looks much neater in tables. Trouble is, I've never done tables before, so will have to find out how to do it, first.

and are tables.
You put at the start and at the end.
You put at the start of each row in the table, and at the end of each row.
Each item in each row has to have at the start and at the end.
There are a few other things you can do: at the start will put a grid on the table - lines around it and lines between the cells.

Yes, I think that's what I meant: a grid. So all I'll have to do is putting at the start, and at the end?

I don't think the GuideML has to be in capitals, does it? I think they recommend you do it in capitals because it is easier to read. Works for me anyway.
While I have you GuideML experts here - is there a way of making a link open in a new page? Like the 'target=_blank' thing in HTML?

I believe lower case GML is considered unsupported. It's been a while since I was a sub though.
Isn't it LINK POPUP or something?

GuideML should be in capitals in Edited Entries.
There's a technical reason for it which I didn't understand.

There's the 'pop-up' option, but it's not done in edited guide entries. If Opti chooses to, she could put that link in reference tags at the bottom. For all I know, the links that show in the right side bar (those in rteference tags) pop up in a new window automatically then.

Ahh, so my memory served me right. I'm sure I've read the reason somewhere, probably on one of the guide ml clinic pages.

Thanks, Jordan
The reason I ask is that I have a few links on my PS but it irritates me that I have to lose my h2g2 window - I prefer to have them in different windows.
Yes, Lazy is my middle name.
