I had that heppen to me twice: once on a laptop, then last year on this PC. Isn't it just too annyoing?
I now either write it here, or send to my gmail account, so whatever happens to my PC, my research results are safe.

You mean you write it in German first?

No, but I copy facts from various sources - can't memorise the thing's engine types and all that - and then translate the names/units later before I incorporate them.

The only ones I write completely in German are the ones that were meant for Uni originally - like the one.

In that case, email is probably your best option.
Google has google docs where you can write and save things.

Well, if they are that boring, and look abandoned, you could always ask for scouts to recommend them for the flea market.

Part of my problem is that I tend not to read the PR thread first because it colours what I want to say. So I hack through a crap entry, get to the PR thread only to find the scouts putting it back to entry...

I always have a glimpse at the PR thread first before reading the entry. Some PR threads are so active that I never make it to catch up and read the entry before it's picked.

It always irks me when I've just thought of a good point for the PR thread and then someone has already made it I read the entry first, too.
