It's strange that New Zealand and Australia are always put together, given that they are actually quite a distance apart! i think NZ would be my preference...I'm told the weather is less extreme! (tho I think glaciers are quite cold smiley - smiley )

Painting the house...sounds like fun smiley - erm

Starting on the bathroom next week...oh good, can't wait!!! smiley - smiley

Hello Geoff
The house is finished but not by me - the painter from work does it for me although I have to watch him sometimes smiley - smiley
I will have to start internal decorations too but i'm going to wait until I get back - I'm off to see Jonnie the week after next!
I'll keep you abreast of things - started by going to Newcastle today to get a new waterprooof jacket smiley - smiley
They've been skiing today btw - I'll not be doing any of that malarky! I'm more your sledger and apres ski person smiley - smiley
Lovely to hear from you smiley - smiley

Hi Helen
Apres-ski sounds the like the best bit smiley - drunk!!! As long as there's no fondue around...or don't they do that anymore? smiley - erm

How was Newcastle? (I haven't been for over 10 years).

Take it easy smiley - cool

Geoff

Fondue sets were mentioned last week as bits of useless junk people hoard in their cupboards - I got rid of mine to make way for more useless junk smiley - smiley
I don't think they do fondue in New Zealand!
It's ok (Newcastle I mean) - I prefer it to the Metro Centre - got more soul.
It's 6.23am here so I expect you'll have been up for hours!
Speak soon

A bit like sandwich toasters and rotisseries (sp?), I've still got my Brevell somewhere...probably gone mouldy in a box in a cupboard!!!

I used to like the Metro centre. Probably because all the shops are there - no endless walking to and fro(it must be a man thing smiley - winkeye ).

I'd been up half an hour - got rather drunk last night on Saki while watching old Japenese films with friends. smiley - drunk

You must have a very bad head! Were/are your friends Japanese then?
I went back to bed, finished a book and then, fell asleep again - just going to the shower now!
Funny you should say that but I was in the loft getting the big case out yesterday afternoon and spied the sandwich toaster box - put it in the charity bag then and there!
However, I should mention that I recently purchased a George Foreman grill smiley - smiley It makes excellent toasted sandwiches!
You're right about the Metro Centre - the big plus is that you can drive and park (sometimes) and you don't need a coat. I still like the city centre though smiley - smiley

Hi Helen

What's the charity shop going to do with a sandwich toaster box? smiley - smiley

Had the big audit yesterday - came out relatively unscathed (still got a job anyway!) - boss bought champagne to celebrate smiley - wow....could have been the kiss of death!

I've heard the grills are really good for steaks, etc but hadn't thought about toasties. smiley - tongueout

Speak soon

Well done - I was wondering how it went. lol re the box btw smiley - smiley

I havent' quite grasped the steak thing - tend to overdo them - I'm much better with frying then I can judge. Haven't tried fish which is supposed to be really good.
Had my first session of Pilates today but of course won't be able to do any more for a month! Also going to Areobics this evening smiley - smiley
Bye for now
Helen

Chick?????? LOL

I'm not fit and I won't be going again - hated every minute of it - it was worse than the class I went to last year.
I've decided to go for the Pilates when I get back as well as enrolling in the gym and doing some treadmill work, cycling and rowing. I can use my trampoline at home and to music that I like not this pumping iron stuff!

I'm about to get into a hot bath in case of bad back in the morning smiley - smiley

From your friend the very unfit granny smiley - smiley

You don't seem to have been keeping up! I've just got back from three weeks in New Zealand and have been away for almost four weeks - still suffering from jet lag and will write later but glad to hear you're still in the land of the living smiley - smiley

Either you've been affected by the potato blight i was hearing about (not you personally of course!) or, you've got yourself a woman smiley - smiley

I hope you're going to divulge all!

I'm off to Barcelona for a couple of days tomorrow (via Birmingham). Hopefully we'll speak when I get back?
Take care
Helen
