Good morning Geoff
I expect you're out in the sunshine...
Does this mean that you're very fit?
Or, is it qualified by the visit to the pub
I was going to put a journal entry re 'size' but then I thought anyone who read it might get the wrong idea and think I was about 20 stones
I've finished my House Reports but now comes the Exam marking followed by Subject Reports...and I haven't written my speech yet

Hi Helen
How are you?
Sunshine!!! not too much of that here today - it's been tipping it down for hours - lucky I like the rain .
Very fit ....me ....nooooo! I stopped smoking in November and piled on one and a half stone within three weeks . Been making a concerted effort for the past 4 weeks to get back to around 14 stone (only 8 lbs to go)
Reports, exam results - sounds like lots of fun!!!! Is the speech for the end of term 'soiree'?

It's my leaving speech
I'm very glad to hear that you've stopped smoking...I gave it up years ago and we're always the worst
Weight is directly related to height...so if you're 4'11", then you may have a problem
Sun is shining here...has been all day

Oh....it would seem I do have a problem....not really . My BMI is around 27 - so I'm catagorised as overweight, this is a bit general as a fit athlete would be judge the same. Apparently the guide is now the ratio between the size of hip and waist - a particularly depressing statistic for me .
I originally stopped for 7 years when Ben was born, but then had a bit of woman trouble and started again - that was about 5 years ago, surprised how easy it has been, given I started a new job at the same time!
Nothing quite like the disapproving looks of a reformed puffer
So how is the speech developing? "Unaccustomed as I am to public speaking...."

What are you doing to get it off? My midriff is my depressing area...
Speech is on the back burner just now...marking takes precedence...I'll try not to make it a night before job

Nothing special really! Mainly I've altered my diet - it used to be a lot of chocolate, ice cream and cakes or even chocolate ice cream cakes and crisps, etc. Cut out sugar, eat a lot of low fat foods and water at work instead of coffee (surprisingly filling !!).
Exercise bike for between 10 and 60 mins 5 times a week + some weights. On the whole it's something I can stick to long term so my weight doesn't yo-yo . Go to a local gym now and again - for the jacuzzi .
Is your leaving a formal do or something more relaxed?
Hello
LadyChatterly Posted Jun 23, 2003
It's called a Dining In Evening...semi formal really. The Second Master is speaking for me...I have to respond lol
It's blinking Bombay Mix for me...I seem to be addicted at the moment and actually I do have rather a lot of cappucinos at work...kettle in my study. I've just done my stretching exercises but it'll take more than that to shift this lot...annoying thing is, I only need to lose about 10lbs for it to make a huge difference to me (in the waistline area I mean)
My eldest son rang me twice this evening...on his mobile from Milton Keynes. I couldn't hear a word for the noise...he's at the Eminem concert lol He was talking to me just as Eminem was about to come on stage...suddenly there was a deafening noise and Chris said (distantly) he's in a Ferris Wheel on the stage!
I tried the gym...don't like weights and hated the pumping iron music lol

Bombay mix and cappucino, not a combination you come across every day is it?
It took a lot of looking to find a gym that I was happy at - a lot were filled with people who really didn't need it or were there to pose!
As I remember, concerts weren't the best places for conversations
Was he good?

I couldn't really hear anything...but the language was quite interesting I think
I see you're online...I am briefly...in the middle of a marathong exam marking session

It wasn't the funniest comment.
How has the last couple of days been for you?
Hello
LadyChatterly Posted Jun 26, 2003
A bit of a nightmare...Year 10 Marking is always awful, I finally finished it at 10.45 last night...still go tthe collating to do though...it's in 4 parts. I'm now in the middle of year 7...I still haven't written my speech and i have no idea what i want for a leaving gift. Also, I'm knackered.
I was held up yesterday while I rewrote a colleague's letter of application for another job.
I've been up to Newcastle this evening to try and get something for me and for one of my staff and for my Deputy head of House. I managed to buy two skirts, two blouses, and three jumpers lol
You can tell I'm tired...sentence structure and punctuation have gone to pot.
My youngest rang from Argentina this evening...they didn't stay in Chile...it's not very nice and expensive. They're off to Brazil and then back into Argentina to ski and then fly from Santiago to New Zealand. He wants to nknow when I'm going out.
I'm rambling...sorry.
I haven't seen you for a couple of days...how are you?
Helen

You seem to be under an awful lot of pressure....sounds like you're going to need a long holiday and a chance to wind down!
New Zealand is one of the few places I really want to visit, do a bit of whale watching, etc . not too sure about South America, I'm probably being unfair .
Personally had a bit of a varied week - store visit to Nuneaton, a day at our Newark site, interviewed for my replacement and been on a one day course. Not nearly as hectic as yours, I'm pleased to say...from a selfish point of view!

Hello
Nice to hear from you. I just got back from the Dinner.
Actually, I can't wait to leave now...for a variety of reasons.
My son has actually extended his stay in South America...they like it so much!
I'll write again when I'm feeling a more with it.
