Party went off well. We started with melon and glace cherries with plum liquer drizzled over it. A dish I made. Then was Coll's famous curry. I hate curry so had chicken and roast potatoes and veg. I made my famous salad. This was followed by Coll's famous sherry trifle and plum crumble, both of which she makes superbly. We then had cheese and biscuits. Some friends said they get lost easily so I gave them a demonstration of my sat nav machine, which impressed them no end. Wed was nice weather so we sat in the garden before and after the meal, which was very nice.
Thursday and Friday were lovely hot days and we sat in the garden in tee shirts and shorts. Friday I lit the dispoable BBQ and put some fresh trout on it. It was fantastic. Have you ever had BBQ trout? A lemon squeezed over the top. With my famous salad.
Coll's son in USA rang and we have booked to go to USA for Christmas. We fly out Dec 14th and return Dec 29th for New Year. Coll has told him she'll be cooking the turkey. It seems that they do it in Brine and she is determined to do it the English way with butter and so on.
Knock on Coll's door the other night and there's this chap standing there saying he was passing and fell in love with her house. It is very Hanzel and Gretal. He wanted to know if she would sell it. It is Tudor style. She is thinking about it.
Just popped home to mow the lawn as it is a very nice day. Have already done Coll's. Her garden is as long as a football pitch.

My, you need an exciting life, never a boring moment
Nothing much to tell from here, I'm afraid, suffering from a cystitis once again, apart from that, we're all fine and dandy. The weather has gone back to summer, which is nice, August was way too cold and wet.
Otherwise, I'm keeping myself busy with writing and reviewing entries for the edited guide and sub editing those entries that have been accepted , plus doing some ACEing

The Liquid Warrior (Vescere bracis meis) Posted Sep 9, 2006
Sorry to hear of the cystitis, but hope you will recover soon.
Yes August was a bit wet, and this late summer is very welcome.
Hoping to have an interview for a job driving a local school taxi, taking children to and from school. It is only during school terms and times, but as nothing else has come up what can I do?

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, it's better than no job anyway, and you once mentioned that you have a friend who's doing this, maybe he can get a word in for you

Yup he is the one that's fixing things up for me.
Another chap is starting his own business and is after administrators. So some-one had put my name forward for that.
So you'rte editing and ACEing, huh? What does that entail, sounds very technical and creative to me.

Hi, hope you're well
Sub-editing and aceing aren't exactly creative, aceing is just fun ( so is subbing), but subbing does include a bit of technical work if the guide ml is not correct.
Administrator for what would that be ?

Don't have a clue what the job would entail.Just paperwork, that sort of thing. Most likely a glorified clerk. But it is a nice easy quiet job and will bring in some money. I haven't heard any more than this at the moment. Don't even know what business they trade in.
I had to have some one else do my page for me. Sam also known as Alleycat. I didn't have a clue what to do.
Problems with my brother at the moment, gotta dash.Sorry

Hi.
The problems with my brother, I've explained about him, seem to have quietened down for now, until the next time.
Just got a call to attend another funeral. Seems it's all wedding and funerals these days. There's a film in there some where.
No-one I know, one of Coll's relatives, but I shall be driving her there. Not too far to go about, 40 miles, mostly motorway, so only about half an hour to drive there.

aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Sep 16, 2006
Don't you just hate going to funerals? I was lucky, the last one i should have attended was at a time when I really had no chance of going there.
Guess I'll go for a nap now, I'm alwyays tired
What are your plans dfor the weekend ?

Well we've got some steaks from the freezer, and thought we'd have them, then pop over to a local club and listen to the band and dance. Sunday I am fixing cupboard back on the wall. We took it off to have the boiler fitted. Now I am putting it back to hide the boiler. We have a big piece of beef, so will most likely invite some of Coll's family to dinner.
Yourself? What are you up to? Anything exciting?

No, nothing exciting, which is all right with me, I love my peace
The weather has been fantastic here, I really hope it will stay like this for a while yet. This Saturday, it's my sister's birthday, maybe we'll go there, it's not yet entirely sure. Only three more weeks till the autumn holidays, time passes quickly
How are you and Coll ?

A builder came to repair a crack in Coll's cieling so he helped us put the cupboard back. We went to a club Saturday to hear a band to play at our ladies night to see if they were any good. Took me two hours 16 minutes to drive there, the weather was terrible, couldn't see through the rain. A place just outside of Oxford called Bishops Cleve. Very pretty little place, if you can see it through the rain. Thank God I'd used the GPS system, I'd never have found the place. Only took two hours to drive home though. Heavy traffic through the local streets due to the Big Golfing tournament with Tiger Woods and so on at a place called The Grove in Watford.

Update on eyes.
Operation on left in October. Then right in November. I should be ok for driving in US in December, eyes should be fine by then.
Change of plan about them. But things are working out.
Hope all is well with you.
Problems with new e mail, not everyone can get through.
