My point exactly. Although I'm sure God could, if he wanted to - but if he did, it would definitely be a (pointless) miracle, which I suspect is what people are after.

I'm too stingy to want to bend silverware of any kind, a hen it would be useless, and then I'd have to buy replacements for it.

Instead of "a Hen," I meant "and then."

Why would you think Crowley is a better expert at this than The Amazing Randi? Randi dedicated his career to debunking the paranormal and even offered up $1,000,000 to anyone who could prove him wrong. And there is no greater expert on the shenanigans of Uri Geller than Randi.

Crowley was a magician himself, among other things. One thing he was not was welcome among members of the Golden Dawn after he revealed their secrets.

I don't know whether he's better than Randi, but if there were improvements in the art of detecting fakery after 1945, Crowley wasn't around to benefit from them owing to having died that year.

Yeah, Randi was a magician and professional skeptic NOT amongst other things. smiley - winkeye

You may not know this, but The Amazing Randi spent some time on tour with Alice Cooper and designed many of Alice's stage effects, like his Guillotine.

I think Crowley was a good debunker of fakery, from what I've read of his works. (He also had a terrific sense of humour.) Crowley was scathing about mediums.

I think the reason most people prefer debunkers who concentrate on exposing parlour tricks is that they go no further. Crowley, of course, asserted that psychic phenomena were real - just not the mediums.

Florida Sailor All is well with the world

Hi bob

I would like to assure that all is well, but I am dealing with reports that a very good friend is reported missing from a local police department. I will probably drive 40 miles to the east tomorrow to see if I can help in the search. Please keep us in your thoughts. I know you did not want this response, but thanks for asking. Sometimes it is good to even share bad things.

smiley - cheers
