OKAY..THATS ENOUGH!

Monday 16th may.
Okay, now i'm annoyed. Why do i always believe these so nice voices on the other end of the 'phone when they say they'll get back to me?smiley - steam
On thursday last week we had the loft insulated.(It wasn't up to the required ten inch of insulation,so the nice man who surveyed it said.)smiley - ok
As i find it difficult to run up and down the stairs i left him to it,just going up once to take him a drink of tea.
Around four hours later he had finished, and brought a paper for me to sign, quote"just to say he hadn't put his feet through the ceiling,or anything as dramatic as that".
I had a friend visiting,so as soon as he had gone she went upstairs to use the bathroom. She shouted down to ask me if i'd like her to vac(most of my frinds are like thatsmiley - hug),but i said no......i'd sort it out later.I really think she was trying to tell me i should go have a look, but i'm a bit dense sometimes,
I couldn't believe my eyes when i finally went upstairs....smiley - bigeyes
The lovely young man had left a trail of insulation,a bit like candy floss,on the landing, down the staircase, stuck to my curtains,in the hallway, and stuck to the coats that were hung there. My loft entrance, and the loft cover looked as though a chimney sweep had handled them before washing the soot of his hands...apart from the wood facing he had broken off, which was sat neatly against the bedroom door.My smoke alarm was on the window sill, and my dark wood bannister and hand rail were a sort of milky whitish dust colour!!There were also lumps of concrete on the carpet, and a sort of grit just everywhere.
Now,not been one to complain as a general rule i was pretty smiley - crosswhen i rung the office next day(friday the 13th,of course)I sent them pictures of the mess, and they duly rung me back to say they were sending someone out to look.Of course that meant i couldn't clean up ,so when i go to bed tonight,(which wil be early, seen as i was up early with hubby, waiting for the AA to come and start our car so he could go to work)i will yet again stride over all the grit, rubble and candy floss.
Tomorrow i will try to get hold of the firm again,in the hope that my house might resemble some form of normality by the time i go to bed tomorrow.
In the meantime ..thanks for listening..i feel lots better for the rant.

What to do next??

I made friends with someone on a site similar to H2 about three years ago.We kept in regular contact,by e-mail,telephone,texts etc,and shared a lot of laughter, and some tears over the time. She had a family bereavment ,and was terribly upset, that was about eighteen months ago.
I let her know when mum died, and got a lovely card from her.
Just before christmas i rung to say i had sent a little gift for her son,and i couldn't get through to her.I sent numerous text messages, and called her moble, which went on to the answering service.Irang again, and a stranger told me he had only got that number the same day.
I wrote, and got no reply, and two weeks ago i sent a bithday card, with a return address on it.
Nothing has come back....i don't know what to do next.Maybe she has decided not to keep in touch, but i'm worried.

First Mothers Day

I have bought a stepping stone for the garden, which will stand on it's edge ,next to the rockery, and a red rose tree, full of flowers,to plant next to it.
The inscription on the stone reads
"God gave us memories, that we might have roses in december".It says all i need to.

What a lovely experience

On saturday we hired a minibus, and set off to the lake district,a long drive that i didn't relish.
My youngest daughter and her partner were getting married in the afternoon.smiley - applause.
The wedding took place in a big hotel, and the room had an open fire, which wasn't lit until later in the day.The whole fireplace, and shelf above it was filled with lighted candles, tea lights i the hearth, and church candles in the grate and on the shelf. At each side of the fireplace was a small table, one containing unlit candles in the shape of a heart, the other displaying pictures of departed mum and nan,and others who couldnt attend.
During the ceromony the vicar invited all the children to come forward and light a candle,to light up the heart on the side table,it was beautiful.
The vows were so full of promise ,and love, and i have to say it was one of the nicest weddings i have ever experienced. It made me feel very proud .
We had a wonderful time, and i just had to share my thought with my friends on here.
So,congratulations to both of you,i.m sure you'll have a wonderul life together,and i didn't lose a daughter,i gained daughter number 4.smiley - bubbly.love to both of you.smiley - hugxxx
