I agree the birthday numbers do not matter as far as age.
It is about persons like myself and those closer to you being happy you were born when you were, giving all of us a chance to get to know you! It has been a pleasure.

I feel that I should know this, but where are you living now?
My mom is in the middle of radiation right now. She was diagnosed with breast cancer just before Christmas 07. It's been a long, pain process but she's doing pretty well right now.

Hey UberGek, long time no see! I've been living in Seville, Spain since 2003. Glad to hear your mother is doing well now.
I had some good news the other day, though I am still left with a few doubts about it all. But apparently I am NED (No Evidence of Disease) and it has been recommended that I don't do any more chemo. More info here...

I hope you can relax a little, at least between scans, and get things normalized elsewhere. The blog and clothing ideas sound *great*!

In fact, there has been no elation at all, Elentari. While I do appreciate it is very good news (compared to what it might have been) I may actually find out in two weeks that something else has started growing since November.
It's just been such a freakin' rollercoaster ride that I can't allow myself to fall into the "enjoying the high" trap. I'm not being pessimistic, but I am being very realistic because - let's face it - nobody can predict what this disease will do next.
So maybe you got it right, Mal ... it seems the best policy is to ignore all the "what ifs" and "what might bes" that keep popping up in my brain and just focus on TODAY, while making future plans that fall into the three-month testing time frame.

As do I, SC. Unfortunately, what sounds good in theory may have no bearing at all in reality. As Ricardo said, there is no scientific evidence that supports someone who is NED having chemo in order to prevent future recurrences.
Isn't it curious how people anthropomorphise cancer ... really they are just a bunch of random cells.
Anyhow, until the beginning of February I am happily making short-term plans and living in "denial".
And if the CT scan and blood tests come back showing no evidence of disease then Nog, Pip, Pablo and I are going to Morocco to celebrate! 
Hell, we might go anyway...
