Nope, just work there, will run it next year...I'm basically just a lowly bartender with delusions of grandeur!

jimcracker,
My last 'holiday' was also about twelve years ago - when I moved to Spain (so, sort of a working holiday). But I guess there are worse places to be a year-round 'prisoner'.

It's a shame you never got to use your passport, jimcracker.
Well, at least you get to 'travel the globe' on hootoo and meet people from all over. Perhaps that is a bit of consolation.
No, I'm not hours out compared to UK time - just one hour ahead.

The need to to travel will overcome obstacles which the mere desire to travel cannot surmount. It is generally believed that Hitch-hiking is confined to specific land masses and stalls mightily when met with open water.
But be of hope, for Truth is that ocean going sailors are often as willing as long-distance drivers to offer a lift. Go hang out at yacht clubs and public wharves. Avoid larger ships of questionable registry (insert your favourite 3rd world country here) and look for something that carries about a half dozen that has room for a new crewmember. Oh you might have to scrub some decks and endure the lash and scurvy but what good emmigrant doesn't. Half the fun is getting there they say.
Hey, how about an h2g2 exchange program like they have for students. I'll trade my life here for six months or a ye... no, that wouldn't work. None of you would survive the winters here. Hell, I'm having trouble myself and it's half past June already.
