hi Caerwyn,
I certainly didn't want to come across like I was trying to impose limits or restrictions on anyone. I was thinking more that I didn't want to 'advertise' in the sense of starting an 'ask h2g2' thread about the album or have it mentioned in the Post.
Meanwhile, Mal is now in the gallery!

I rather like the idea of being Cate Blanchett...to be that tall would be lovely.

For what it's worth, Az, I got my Brownie Hawkeye back from the repair shop today so hopefully a more recent picture will appear in the next few days.

I can see it now, it'll be a shot of downtown Edmonton at lunchtime with the caption *Where's Waldo/Anhaga?*

well, mr. zoomer certainly hasn't been to downtown edmonton at lunchtime in the last few decades. People don't go downtown in edmonton.
a number of years ago I went out for lunch with my brother (who was working retail in the Temple of Mammon* at the time). We went to my neighborhood (Old Strathcona) and he sat in the cafe with his mouth hanging open watching the bustling crowds go by outside the window. Finally he said "Even on a weekend you'd never see crowds like this downtown, never mind a Tuesday afternoon."
Perhaps it will be a picture of Old Strathcona on a Tuesday afternoon.
(actually, downtown has gotten much better. Except for the incessant reconstruction of Churchill Square.)

Isn't that you just right of centre at the Ironhorse?

Good Gravy! That does almost look like me. But I don't go to the Iron Horse: I'm still pissed off that it isn't a VIA station anymore.

hola señores anhaga and zoomer:
Okay, anhaga, shall await your next photo with a healthy mixture of curiosity and trepidation. . Meanwhile zoomer hasn't said whether I can put the doctored old geezer photo in the gallery.
It's quite fun to get up in the morning and see what you two have been up to while I was asleep.

Thanks az!
Just in case anybody was wondering - yes that is the Grand Canyon and that is my man Bryan with me i the 2nd pic. It was one of the best holidays of my life (a week in Las Vegas) but boy was it hot! 104°F (40°C) in the shade that day. Phew!
Caerwynn - you look very much like an ex colleague of mine called Angie...I think you win the award for "looks familiar"!

The photos are great, Lady. And I was just teasing you about the heat cos 40º in summer is quite normal here. Though last summer when it got up to 51º one Friday afternoon (and we were the hottest city in the world!) going outside actually felt like walking into a blast furnace. Though it was quite an interesting experience. Having known -40º and more (less?) I'll take extreme heat anyday.
