Yeah, Darryl Hannah seems to be quite a common, er, transgender one.

Mudhooks posted this link:
http://www.blogjam.com/despot_or_sexpot/
Which asks:
>> ...can you tell the difference between a selection of murderous, human rights-abusing dictators and some Hollwood porn legends, simply by examining their moustaches? <<
No. Because I don't think there is any difference between abusive dictators and porn legends except perhaps in the scale of their obsenities.
They all lack compassion or sympathy for their fellow human beings, they disrepect human life and disregard the feelings of others because they are totally self serving, selfish and egocentric. As blicky ranted elsewhere " them all!"

While it is easier in this thread to remember that the link to the photos is at Post #1 perhaps an occassional reposting for the convenience of latecomers, newbies, lazy old farts like me, etc...
http://public.fotki.com/azahar/h2g2_friends/
That said, I have to confess the 'comments' function at that site looked like a steeper learning curve than these old legs could climb so I haven't seen any comments there, not even Sat's somewhat predictable and not unwelcome shot at me.
I thought that's what this (and the original) thread was for? Here at least the house rules keep it relatively civil and everyone can see them. Maybe I'm getting old and lazy but I resist having to register and login to that other website and then search the backlog of several dozen separate conversations.
See! Now I'm even starting to sound like a grumpy old man! Just as you all see me now from my first photo! Proof that perception is everything. At least no one has yet dared to question my new photo. But I suspect many will become very, very wary of me once they've seen it.

Oops. I found the 'comments' button on the left that let's you view 'all comments' without registering (I think).

Mariah Carey? Carla Bruni? Sarah Michelle Gellar?
WTF? I mean, I know those were bad pictures, but come on...

jwf...
Regarding the comments on the Fotki space. At least they can be deleted without resorting to Yikesing someone. They can also be edited.
Once you figure out the features on Fotki, it really is pretty cool. You can even get email, and keep journals.

What can I say...
Sat didn't rise to the bait and Mudhooks grounded my boat.
Say, now that all you kind folks haved gazed upon my noble features and realise that I am not really a crazy old curmudgeon will ya come to my rescue if ya ever see me being mean to some kid who's in over his head in some thread and doesn't understand he's dealing with Moby Dick here.

And if ya don't know how to do it ask azahar, she's done it more than once with her calm, sane, broader perspective. She's the reason this unlikely group is gathered here. A true peacemaker.

Should we adopt the speak quietly and carry a big stick, or speak loudly and use the stick anyway?

Sadly friends the worst has happened with this link. I quote from
F1599621?thread=422223&latest=1
"ive seen a picture of 1 of them shes not a bad lucker but a cow lol"
Unfortunately the very openess of this site and the internet has attracted people who would abuse it.
For me, I'm upset to be a part of it if it's going to be warped like that. As you might see, I've tried to change the subject.

hi Grumpy,
Don't you mean my calm, sane, broad's perspective?
I get a slightly different version of the Fotki page when I am logged in so I get to do stuff like edit and delete things (loving the power!). But I just logged out and in fact can click on the comments notice under any photo and see them, so you should be able to as well.
I check the new comments each morning to make sure there is nothing unpleasant there. And in future I will delete any 'anonymous' comments. I hope that sound fair to everyone.

Mudhooks,
Speak softly *and* use the stick seems to work as well.
hi zoomer,
Yes, that was some kinda subject changing tactic!
Unless many of us are going back for a look several times a day the site seems to be attracting a lot of voyeurs. You can see how many daily visitors there have been on the main page with all the albums on it - the h2g2 one is at the bottom.
Anyhow, 44 photos now!

Zoomer..... genius.
Az. I think it is actually walk softly... my error. Still, I find that whether I walk or speak softly, the Whacking Stick comes in very handy, even when it is a metaphoric one.

Beatrice Posted May 19, 2004
Well, they're not "rules" as such, but it is convention not to use txtish overly much. Mostly from the polite consideration of allowing what you've posted to be decipherable by others!
I must admit, that's why I'm hesitating to add my gruesome image....
