Well, morning washings and stuff are usually pretty early ... eyes not necessarily even engaged yet. But I do suppose the fit of the trousers and work-shirts might be a give-away.

Sure, why not? As long as the oldsters leave with as many parts as they came with, it shouldn't matter a lot just how they are 'attached'.

I'm sure that you have quite an assortment of saplings and shrubbery about the place. A bit of natural 'gums', stick bits together and send them on their way. By the time the elders are home and things fall off, they'll have forgotten what hit them anyway.
