Thanks Jen, if he reads his Ace message, I asked him, too.
And you're right, I nearly felt as if i had -what's the name- SARS?
How are you, did you have nice spring weather today?
New life ?
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Feb 18, 2007

We had a very sunny and warm weekend, and as I'm off every weekend now, due to reduced working hours, it was very relaxed. The boys will be off school tomorrow, it's Shrews Monday? (carnival), and I'll be off, too, so we should be able to have a lie-in- except for K.
Did you see the t-shirt challenge of the eds? I wrote an entry, once it hits the FP, I'll get a t-shirt and a badge.

Hi Claudia
Was it your choice to reduce your working hours? It must be nice having more time to do other things.
I did'nt know about the competition Not that i want another T.shirt. I gave the last one to Nick as that colour blue is not very nice....fussy aint I
I've started another entry, well it will be more than one on British Orchids. It could be a while before you see anything of though, i'm doing it off site

Hi Jen
No, it wasn't my choice, the boss is saving money, so I and two other part time colleagues had to reduce hours. It's nice to have a long weekend every week now, but I'll earn less, which is not nice.
Right now, I'm not really working on any entry, and I'm always torn whether to work on one offsite or not - especially since my laptop crashed and with it all the data - researches, photos, emails, everything was lost.
To be honest, I didn't do it for the t-shirt, blue is not my colour , but researching and writing it was quite an experience.
You can find wild orchids where I live, they're really beautiful.

Oh dear. I can understand the loss of earnings, thats never a good thing
We did'nt get a pay rise this year as buisness was'nt so good last year. It will make a difference to me, as everything like my rent as stuff has gone up by quite a bit
Nearly every continent has orchids, apart from the driest deserts and constantly frozen areas. They really are very beautiful

We're in the same boat then, with less money for higher prices - they raised the VAT by 3% this year
Just as well I booked the flight last year.
Do you know now whether you'll be bale to make the meet? I seem to recall you had some other things you wanted to do.
New life ?
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Feb 19, 2007
The other things i wanted to do seem to have faded into the background. So all being well i should be able to make the meet. I'll let you know for definate nearer the time.
Have you any idea what the afternoon activity will be yet? I did see a mention of a visit to Kew
New life ?
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Feb 19, 2007
Yes, I saw Neal suggesting it, but as far as i know nothing is decided or planned yet. Maybe we should poke him a bit
New life ?
~:*-Venus-*:~ Posted Feb 19, 2007
I'll hold him down and you can do the pokey thing
As long as it's not a visit to a museum or art gallery i don't mind what the activity is
New life ?
aka Bel - A87832164 Posted Feb 19, 2007
I quite liked the Tate Modern, but that's definitely something Neal will not do, so don't worry
I do hope you'll make it, would be great to see you again.
I'll go now and watch some TV : ReGenesis, it's a Canadian series about a laboratory who research all sorts of diseases casued by viruses or bacteria. It's very good.
Talk soon

Evening Jen..-)
It has improved lots
I love your current tagline 'Bird-ghost, coming to a thread near you soon '
Got my t-shirt today, two of the badges, and a lovely h2g2 mouse mat.
Are you having such mild spring weather as we have? I guess you're pretty busy at work then.
Speak soon

Hi Claudia
So you understand the tag eh! There are only a few people that know what my tag means
Are the T'shirts still that horrible blue colour?
The weather has been mild, but also very wet. It does'nt seem to put the customers off though, we were fairly busy yesterday.
Have you done anything interesting with your weekend?
Speak to you soon

Hello Jen,
it's been the same weather here, mild but wet. I couldn't be bothered to go to a garden centre when it's wet, but then I onmly need a few things for my balcony, so that can wait. The one garden centre IO used to go to has closed, which I was very surprised to learn about last time I went there.
The t-shirts are still that horrible goo-blue, yes, and they still only come in L or XL. K is wearing his with pride.
I had my son drive me to the supermarket for the weekend shopping - it was his first tour after he had passed his driving test on Tuesday. He didn't want to go all alone, but didn't want to take his dad, either
I'm having a relaxed and lazy weekend, just the cooking to do. Maybe I'll ask the boys to do the cooking today.
Have a good evening

Good morning Jen.
Hope you're well and that you're having the same lovely spring weather we are having.
They said the weekend will be back to cold and even snow, though.

Hi Claudia
Yes, we've had some lovely spring type weather, just a shame that for most of it i've been working.
I have this weekend off and was hoping to get in the garden, but i've also heard it's going to get very cold again
Hows things with you?

Fine, thanks. I now have a chauffeur. We had to amend our car insurance, as it was set to K and me driving the car only. Fortunately, that wasn't a problem to get it changed, and it's not even overly expensive, because it's one of the old contracts still. Had we have to do it today, it would have been a difference of several hundred € a year
