Back and ready to play

Instead of the computer crashing, the whole internet winked out of existence, leaving me cut off from the world since Thursday. But, just before the engineer arrived to fix it, it's suddenly decided to start working again. Just as well, as I'd just run out of imformation for my 4000 word essay 'the effects of organic farming on the soil system', after somehow writing 300 words on earthworms. I suspect that there's a lot of waffle involved, quite possibly with the addition of chocolate source and banana slices.

If that doesn't make any sense then you obviously haven't tried writing an essay on the effects of organic farming on the soil system with nothing to help you appart from the three books 'organic farming', 'proffitable organic farming' and 'sustainable aggriculture'. What's worse I've actually been having to read them.

Broadband

I've managed to persuade my brother to install broadband onto my laptop, so can still log on when noone else wants the internet smiley - biggrin. I took my littlest brother and sister up Ivinghoe beacon. It's not a hard walk at all, but is the best I can manage around Hemel. smiley - sadface Oh well...

Still, getting the internet back was good enough for now. I can't do anything about the lack of mountains, but I may be able to persuade my parents that they would like to go on holiday over Easter afterall. The main problem here is that my mother wants to go to Norfolk, which is even flatter than Hertfordshire. smiley - erm

So that's it then....

I'm off home (Hemel Hempstead), so may not be on hootoo again til 22nd April smiley - yikessmiley - sadface

In the process of packing, which is going to take ages smiley - groan. Also saying goodbye to friends who I won't see for a month smiley - wah, which isn't pleasent.smiley - sadfacesmiley - cry

It also means no walking, archery, spur-of-the-moment nights out or get-togethers in people's rooms to talk about nothing in particular. It does mean I'll get more reading done, and get to see my brothers and sister, but a month is a bit steep.

Seeya all when I get back. smiley - smiley

Skeggie

It was the RamSoc mystery walk - so a joke took us to about the flattest place there is! smiley - biggrin Consequently, I've spent the day walking around Skegness smiley - laugh (and generally looking quite odd with my walking gear through the middle of a tourity seaside resort). It was very fun - we kept making jokes about the terrain - every ramp was a 'hill' or 'mountain', every bank was a 'grade 3 scramble'. We only walked for 8 miles, so had plenty of time left over to gaze at the North Sea and get sandy feet. smiley - smiley

I should be writing essays - but hey

Went to the Roaches today. I led the walk with David, and all would of been fine but one of the footpaths went through private land so we had to change the walk. This was my first time leading, so that was hard. It was an 11 mile walk as well, and I normally only walk 9-10 miles. (I intend to improve, but shy off greater distances and altitude. I really need to get fitter).
Still, we were only five minutes late, so wasn't bad really. smiley - biggrin. Could of been a whole lot worse. It was the forth walk in a row with no rain. Quite worrying. Still, there was plenty of mud.smiley - smiley
As for the rest of the week, I watched 2 Weeks Notice, A Beutiful Mind and the entire first series of Red Dwarf. I also went ice skating, and ate lots of pizza. Not a very eventful week, but fun all the same.

Well, been out all day and must hav cup of smiley - tea. Is necessary or I won't stay awake much longer. smiley - yawnsmiley - zzzsmiley - sleepy
