Must dash, but first..
Posted May 8, 2003
So much I want to post, but no time. So will have to settle for a journal entry instead.
Firstly, I had my last lecture until September today. I also handed in the last essay until after the summer. This means it's just exams and revision to go.... . Incidently, the revision support group is now up and running (now that I've the time) at A1041625, for a bit of general help, tips from people who've already done the exams and and .
Secondly, the word games group is going to be kind of large I suspect. Haven't got time to add the latest thread suggestions at the moment, but they'll get on their either late tonight or tomorrow.
Thirdly, I've been running around all over the place; the consequence of an essay which has near driven me mad but is hande in now. Had late nights due to an mother - not that she stays up late but I've had to do the work once she's got off the phone and msn. Ah well, I will make up for it at some point in the future.
Fouthly, I'm off to the cinema in a minute, hence lack of posting.
If you're reading this Lou, go revise your French.
End of the list, I came back from plant science today to find a nice new badge on my personal space. It's very colourful and has 'ACE' written on it.
to everyone for being brilliant
Here's and , even though it's airscotia's turn to provide it.
Watch out for the . I lost sight of it a couple of days ago after it was eating cake crumbs. It has been getting very big from eating all those smiley cake crumbs, and could be dangerous.
No time to check for spelling,
Unc

Shocked but happy

I put a link on my page for the site stats and clicked on it to make sure it worked. On looking at it I was somewhat shocked. I was 5th! With 90 postings in 24 hours! I thought I'd never appear in the top posters' list, but I guess I was wrong... No idea that I was posting that much...

Back in Nottingham
Posted Apr 21, 2003
I finally managed to pack everything and get here. I can't stand packing, or leaving (though my mother only cried once this time, and my littleist brother and my sister din't try to sneak in the car either), but getting back to uni is good. Trouble is, by the time I got back, most my friends had gone to the pub. Still, I've seen a couple of my corridor friends, but that's it. Lectures tomorro, first lecture for quite some time... Still, we have plans to spend the evening watching dvds and eating pizza. Not done that for a while either
Note to self: hand in library books, pea cotyledon essay and remember to take pen and paper to lectures. The bus to Sutton Bonington leaves at 9.30am, not 10, and the afternoon's lecture is cancelled.

Bzzzzzz!
Posted Apr 19, 2003
Such was the noise that woke me up on Friday morning. I wasn't awake enough to open my eyes, so listened instead. BZZZZZZZZZ it continued. Hmmm, thought my somewhat sleepy mind, a wasp. Wasps have 2 pairs of wings unlke flies, and because of the hooks that hold them together have their own characteristic buzz. I suspected that I had been paying attention in lectures. A little more listening and I realsised that the wasp must be on my pillow. Altough I don't mind wasps, I realised that if I turned over and squashed it the wasp would probably mind me.
Reluctantly I sat up and opened my eyes. It was indead a wasp, and was on my pillow. I turned on the bedside light, which immediately drew the wasp towards it. It also enabled me to see what time it was, 5am. Far too early. I decided in a foggy, sleepy way that the wasp would just keep flying into the light, enabling me to sleep unstung. I lay back down again.
Bzzzzz, crash, bzzzz, crash. Ugh. I wasn't getting any sleep, and at 6am gave up and got up. The wasp immediately found its way to and out the window.
The rest of the days was good though - went to Blenheim palace for a picnic and family meet-up, as it was my grandmother's 80th birthday.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
