Bless you, my dearest Rick.
I'm full of love, and utterly hate being angry to that twit AHL! But he's the kind of bloke that I have always tried to avoid in life. I wonder if he is happy? I bet he isn't. That is sad, isn't it.
I havent bothered to look for Thuts limerick thread on h2g2. I'll take a peek if I find it. But AHL has found it, so what is the flipping point.

Hi Polly, the point is humans speak, write and disagree, whether we like to hear what they say is questionable, but as blinding ones self and going deaf is impossible,at least we dont suffer in silence, moan and we all hear, say nothing and suffer alone.
anyway 'nuff bull Im off to my pit, missing you already.R.

Hi Poll - and a rather belated 'Good evening' - and to you, Rik.
To get of THE subject, did you know I was a local preacher in the Methodist church? I was preaching this evening - story of Lazarus being raised from the dead, and I used an absolutely brilliant meditation by the Abbe Michel Quoist. If you haven't come across him, do look him up - his Prayers of Life are superb, even though originally published in 1954.
Anyway, the meditation had a disarming title - 'The Funeral'. But the core of it, for me, was when his thoughts were attacking death itself. When I read the following piece, I thought, 'I could apply this to anything harmful or nasty' Not necessarily/just the people who are doing it, but the situations they create. The words were this:
"Death. Grotesque character, bogeyman of little children, non existent phantom.
I don’t take you seriously.
But I am disgusted with you.
You terrify the world.
You frighten and deceive men.
And yet, your only reason for existing is life.
And you are not able to take from us those that we love."
(That last line gets you, doesn't it? I read the whole meditation at my brothers funeral a few years back - guess who was crying that time!)
I thought it might help

Oh Folderol.
That is great. Thank you.
No, I had no idea that you are a preacher. A lay-preacher I guess? That's brilliant. My Father often took the Bible study, or Ministry meeting....
I'm afraid that I am going to pieces. The MB; a friend in Canada; life. It's all got to me. Please mention me in your prayers, G. I don't like this feeling at all.
I'm so sorry that you have lost your brother. I lost mine too. We were very close. I adored him. We had so much fun together~~concerts, holidays, days out....My daughter utterly adored him.
Polly

Dear Rick and Folderol,
AHL has just published part of my conversation here onto the lim MB. He is now stalking me. He is reading all that we write here.

A very good and early morning to you, Poll, and you too Rik (does that sound a bit like Rabbi Blue on thought for a day?).
Weather is a trifle inclement, what?
I'm on early this morning as, having slept on all the postings of last night, I want to say a few things before I go off to do my part time job bussing old ladies - and a few old men - to a day centre.
Yes, I'm a local preacher, Poll, that's a lay preacher or lay reader but in the Methodist church - blame John and Charles' mum, Susannah, she named us and has caused confusion ever since.
I miss my brother too - he died 13 years ago, but he was a few years older than me and was my guide and mentor when we were kids - I idolised him, and he taught me all the good things in life; you know, bird-nesting, scrumping, dodging the 'parky', how to build a camp fire and nearly set fire to the lightning oak, that sort of thing. He lived about 150 miles away so we saw each other only infrequently, but when he died it really hit me hard.
Moving onto THAT man, I wonder if a way of dealing with him is to send him to Coventry. Just totally ignore him and any reference to him. Go on the old threads like we used to - and of course, continue this one - and when he posts a line in a lim, for instance, just ignore it. Treat it as though it wasn't there. He may then get the message .
Worth a try? I might even resort to my old name as it is still alive.
Have a good day - I'll try to get back on over lunch.

Good morning, Folderol and Rick.
You should see the mess in my garden, and on the roads. Branches everywhere. But I hardly heard the storm because I slept deeply (drink-induced ).
HE published only part of MY comments from here yesterday. He didn't publish the bit I had answered to. How clever of him. It makes me look like a mad woman! If he keeps on doing this to me, and seemingly defaming my name, I will make a formal complaint. He also mentioned again, somewhere during the weekend, that I had pressed the complaint button last week(or the week before) and got one of his posts removed. It truly wasn't me! I would tell him if it was me. Do the mods pull posts without our prompting? Anyway, he believes it was me, and is telling everyone that I do it often!!
F, I shall think about your suggestion. I don't know that I can cope with all his comments. I've decided that he is a misogynist.
I hope you both have a great day, although I know that our Rick is very busy this week.
Love to both of you.
xx

The storm is just starting yet again. I have several tall pine trees very close to my home. They are swaying frighteningly. And bits of branch are flying around. And the day has become very dark indeed. I must get the candles out in readiness for a power-cut.
I've just looked out of the window. Oh~thunder now too. I'm feeling quite scared! Another clap of thunder. The storm must be very close.

Back from my driving for a mid day - 4 hour - break. The storm has just started in earnest hear, too, Poll, although I'm told it was around in the night. I think our new d/glazing must be quite good 'cos I was up ion the night - bladder probs - and I didn't hear it.
I should batten down the hatches, Poll, and listen to Radio 3, 4, Classic FM or whatever has the best progs - or take the opportunity to sort through your cd's - that is always good to while away an hour or three. Don't whatever you do sink as low as day time Tv - it is dire unless there'sa nice cheering Ealing comedy or such.
You'll be surprised how much it takes to knock a tree down - and there's planty more near you for the wind to take it out on, without troubling your little neck of the woods
Oh yes and don't forget the consoling presence that a gives - the cup that cheers, etc? Hang on to the until later when it's soporific qualities are more beneficial
Let us know how you get on - we're thinking of you

HI!
I'm so exausted too. I keep needing to sleep. I feel very odd. And my back is still awful
You haven't mentioned your tummy recently.
You must be so worn out. Poor you. But as you say- no rest for those who are so terribly bad.
I'm at church in the morning, and then I have a lot of Easter things to post through folks doors. Rain is forecast, so it should be fun.
I must go to bed very soon.
Do take care. And get some rest whenever you can.
'Night 'Night Rick.

Fresh orange juice, and a Frusli (raisin and hazelnut) bar. Mmm, that was yummy!
I'm away to my nest now.

Guard every breath and keep
You safe, warm, always full of love
Ever ready for your god above.
