Yep. Of course the system is designed not to thwart Terri Wooh at every turn (though I know all too well how it seems some days that's what's happening ) but to prevent people who shouldn't be getting benefits from getting them. And it makes perfect sense that they would have a waiting period (this Habitual Residency thing of which you speak) or something; we have similar policies in place here. And of course you want to earn your living- I know you better than that.
The only reason I can think that the community artist position has that requirement in place is that they're trying to place people who've been on benefits in work so as to get them off benefits. It doesn't, as you say, help people who haven't collected benefits before, whether it's because they're recently unable to work or whatever.
How frustrating for you. Lots of companies here offer legitimate work from home / telecommute positions, they're not all envelope stuffing or scams. Medical transcription and such. Might you find something along similar lines there?

I probably could but:
A) It would drive me mindless stuffing envelopes, cold calling etc.
B) It seems a ridiculous waste of my skills to do that.
C) I'd much rather have a job i enjoyed & am good at.
D) It would be taking employment away from those who may be less skilled, younger, more desperate than me.
E) It's pretty much a full time job keeping the farm going; if P is away. Just keeping the place heated means getting wood chopped & in; monitoring the levels of solar & wind to decide what appliances, if any, can be used at any one time.
I am very lucky that P *does*give me some independent 'pocket money'; plus obviously free bed & board, but i am aware it's been a drain on *his* savings, which doesn't seem fair.
Yes, Pit, i was too honest, can't help it, always have been, always will be. Instant Karma's gonna get you
Went to feed sheep today & Hootoo the donkey tried to be Very Naughty, chased me down the hill, he can dam well shiver outside tonight unless he finds his way to the barn on his own! P emailed to say "It's NOT worth breaking your legs for, he will survive"
Woolie Bear has been good today, she really is getting better at housetraining, only two pees, plus now knows she's not allowed in my room unless i invite her & doesn't whine to be let in.
So, what are the rest of you up to this coming week?

With me Terri more work on my maths which I am not very good at. I am on a maths and english course and I am lot better with my English than my maths but there are some words that I find difficult to spell. I find I understand how to do a sum and then if I don't use it every day, I will forget and have to relearn it.

I sympathise, Thinker; Maths ability & English ability don't always go together. I am Ok with English, but totally useless at anything involving numbers! probably because i skipped the first year of primary school, where you learn basics '2+2= 4' stuff, because my reading level was so high for my age.
Well done you, for doing that course!
here, i am getting rather p'd off 'cos snow yet agin; it's apparently horrendous in Germany, where P is supposed to be going next, can't get hold of him, does he realise transport systems are very bad there right now?
At this end, i need to know which gate he's planning to come in through, so i can shovel snow; i'm not prepared to do the entire lane.
Plus i am running out of some supplies, just phoned the local supermarket, who do deliveries, but since it's Sunday, the guy who knows our remote place isn't there.
Donkey is miserable, wet & needs hay; we haven't got any left & i'm not confident about hauling a grumpy donkey up a slope into a shed without falling over on the snow.
I must confess to feeling somewhat P'd off with being left with all this while P has a nice holiday ski-ing etc. I reckon it's time i checked out El Cheapo short breaks to warm places...but i hate flying! Any suggestions?

Well, actually he does have a solar powered boat lying around.....
But on balance; i think i may hang on & do emotional blackmail to get me & any Irish hooters, etc to the German meet in Spring!

Promise! You come;i come....is this cyber sex?
Anyway, P has made it as far as Hamburg, which is at least in the right country, but not the bit of it he is supposed to be; but at least he can negotiate in his own language (they may be confused by the Irish accent though) as to how he managed to screw up his tickets yet once again.
I vote if the Irish leg of German hooters go via us; P does driving & i take care of paperwork!
Got a phone call today from a volunteers tutor, a young French student, B, will be here for a month from 15 Feb on work placement, discovering how to, or maybe not to, run life via Natural Energy. Just to complicate things, we also have an older lady here during that time...i foresee yet more re-arranging of rooms ahead!
But jeez, it will be wonderful to have company in RL, it does get a bit lonely at times & i probably put too much pressure on P since i am gregarious by nature (or self-training?) & he is more inclined to retreat into himself.
Do opposites attract? What do 'you lot' think?

Thank you Terri for your kind praise. I found that when basic adult classes through the jobcentre started it only catered for those who had poor English but it has only been in the past 10 years that you could get help with Maths.
Today at my English class we even did a short lesson on how to do an email and samples of text language.

I don't know, either.
Your friends are here to help try to figure it out, though.
I'm very sorry to hear this, too. Don't really know what else to say right now...

Neither do I. As far as i can see, he is obviously tired with the travelling, still grieving over loss of lovely Edda , probably in two minds about new puppy....but this doesn't (for me) excuse the fact that I have thought we had a shared life together, made love etc, not just fked.
how long has he felt this way? i feel i have prostituted myself.
What on earth did i do wrong THIS time, other than sometimes differ in opinions & communicate that? I cannot be a clone or a mirror to someone elses ego trip.
He will probably be all contrite tomorrow, but "Hey man, maybe it's a bit too late to say you're sorry, maybe i won't trust you any more"
Thanks for being here with me, my true fiends.
