Needle Me Now...

Anyway, where were we? Ah, yes.
DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT SMOKING, ASHTRAY-BREATH!
Needle Me Now...

I did smoke on Monday and Tuesday as I didn't get alot of sleep in the nights preceding both and saw the odd fag as a way to keep going... Midnight tonight would have been the magic 3 weeks, so I'm kinda looking back and thinking I didn't really need to do that did I...
Still I can't imagine myself actually taking up smoking on a longterm daily basis again.

Good to hear that you are basically off them, keep it up! The occasional glitch is not great, but also nothing to be too worried about.

Since you're all too lazy to needle me into quiting smoking, it is perhaps fortunate that I've been doing just fine not smoking without you!
I now regard myself as a non-smoker.

Thank you m'dear...
I'm not so worried about starting again. I'm more worried about comfort eating.

Hey, congratulations, Azathoth! That's really good to hear.
Are you eating more now you've given up, then?

Not really.
I just need to give up sugar because the insulin and steroids ultimately act as depressants and encourage the body to lay down fat. But that initial high is a deceptive thrill.
Also we're not designed to eat to feel full, but eating to get a sense of a physical "fullness" is self-defeating way of trying to deal to with emotional emptiness. "I feel empty! I'll eat something!"
So behaving that way keeps my weight-up and my esteem, mood and energy/motivation down.
At one stage my comfort eating changed status to Bing Eating Disorder.
Five year ago I weighed fifteen stone. I now weigh twenty-three and a half. At it's worse I was pushing twenty-six stone. I put 3 stone on in 3 weeks and another 7 over another 9/10 whilst on olanzopine an anti-psychotic that surpresses the chemical that lets your brain know you're full. It's like reductil in reverse [which I can't take because I'm on seroquel]. And four years later I'm still trying to lose get it back off.
