Blogs that suck (or are just plain weird)

This one falls into the weird category... http://manaekpazariboe.blogspot.com/
I can't decide if this is serious or not. Check out the photo mid-way down the page (with the lavender tie).

"What the Hell is wrong with you people?: Reasons to question humanity's sanity..."

""Oh honey, you're being silly. I'm sure little Timmy's just fine..."
Ok...let me get this straight. According to this news story*, parents are, even at this late, late date, STILL allowing their minor children to go play with Michael Jackson at his Neverland ranch. Apparently this 15 year-old, described as a "private guest", was injured when he flipped over an ATV he was riding on the property. That's probably the best kind of injury you can get at Neverland. They used a helicopter to airlift the kid out, and don't tell me that there wasn't a sense in some paramedics' head that the swoop-in & rescue wasn't more than a little symbolic.
My question is, who, in the name of almighty Christ, is still letting their kids go over & "play" with Michael Jackson? I mean...you know, I don't even have the freakin' words. Forget it." * http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=796&e=5&u=/eo/20040730/en_celeb_eo/14624

Just when you think things couldn't get worse.... they get better?

I had to take Mom to the hospital on Saturday because she was having chest pains.... I won't go into the fact that she didn't tell me Friday night because she "didn't want to wake" me, but took her nitro and went to sleep.... ARgggghhhhhh....
She's fine. It appears that, yes, it was angina, and yes, she should have gone in the night before rather than wait until morning. Stress is the culprit. Things have been a bit tight financially recently, and both she and I have been seeing out overdrafts over-used.
This morning, I thought I was feeling pretty stressed, what with my own worries over my finances, problems with a neighbour over my cat, the fact that I had a satellite dish installed (I will actually be saving money with it, before you think I was spending foolishly) without getting a permit from the co-op (long story), and my health worries.... I had to contend with Mom's financial woes, her health, and how both of those could impact on my, already unsettled financial situation. I actuall called my dear friend Krys, in order to blubber on her shoulder this evening..... Then I got a call today which lifted a LOT of that weight off my shoulders (at least it is a reprieve, of sorts). I have a little money coming back to me which, while it doesn't whish away ALL my problems, puts me on an even keel.
I will have to pay it back, but... WHEW!
It means that I can get my overdraft up and, instead of having my account go up to zero after I get paid, I may actually be in the black for the NEXT paycheck. Wouldn't THAT be nice?
It isn't as if I am working a minimum wage job or anything.... My pay is good, not great, but good, and should be enough. I just want to get ahead of myself, if only for a few months, and get some of the things I owe for paid up..... Without having to sell off the Picasso

The "fix" was in...

I guess I needn't have wondered what the result would be from the Catholic Church's "marriage tribunal".
This morning, I got a missive from the tribunal office notifying me that they had rendered a decision that my marriage to "have been invalid". Not invalid "according to the precepts of the Catholic Church", mind you. They have pronounced it invalid, period.
I have 20 days to appeal the decision. Whether I do or not, it is reviewed "in the second instance". After that they will send me a lovely document with the tribunal seal.... I suppose so I can frame it and put it on the wall.
I have very little doubt of the outcome. Since they didn't bother to contact my only witness, I can be assured that they have no interest in my side of things.
The fact is, despite my ex's fiance leaving a trail of debris in the form of affairs with other married men and common-law husbands, because she is a "good little Catholic" who is playing by the rules, as backward and inane as they are, for her own self-serving reasons, everything goes her way. The fact that neither my ex or I is or was a Catholic, were not married in the Catholic Church, and have no ties to the Catholic Church, is no impediment to their being able to decide my marriage invalid.
Let me make this clear.
I have no objection to him marrying the tramp. He is free to do so. However, I find it disgusting that the Catholic Church thinks it has the "right" to make any pronouncements about me or my marriage, let alone decide my marriage was invalid.
My marriage was NOT invalid. I was married for 8 years to a man I loved. We were both adults who made the choice to marry and made the choice to divorce. We made those decisions freely and in good conscience. We married leaglly. How arrogant of the Catholic Church to presume to decide we didn't.

Happy Birthday, Mom!
Posted Jun 10, 2004
Today (June 10th) is my Mom's 80th birthday!
Here she was at just a few days old, in 1924. http://public.fotki.com/Mudhooks/my_stuff/family_history_and/macintoshtocher_family/100_0065.html
She's a little bigger now, and she is official Mom to 5, Nan to 8, GGNan to 5, as well being "Mom" and "Nan" to several generations of friends of the official kids, grandkids and GGgrandkids. She has a heart the size of Australia, doesn't like people to "think she's old" yet is proud of her age, and plans to go one to at least 187.
Happy Birthday, Mom!
P.S. Mom loves me best!
