Firstly a big for the two crappy days at work, then a big for the rehearsals going well.
I'm having a bit of a time at the moment, life seems to be wanting me in 3 places at once. I'm quite good at saying i'm in one place but being in another, ............but to actually do it.
It must be getting to me, or i'm getting old, i've taken to having early nights. Ah i wish i had your stamina Emee, a full day at work, then the play, and then partying til the early hours.
Good evening

Thanks for the . Needed one. Last night before rehearsals we found out that the producer who also is in charge of the theatre company is having his wings clipped. There's someone on the board of trustees who doesn't like that we don't have realistic sets. We have no money for realistic sets. Plus, that's the whole point of theatre - for the audience to use their brains. *sigh* So for the current show, we may not have a set at all since the producer also happened to be the builder.
Here. Let me clone you. There. That should help. So is it work that needs more of you?
Good evening

If they want realistic sets they'll have to pay for 'em, but i'm with you on the imagination theory. Too much of the media is dumbed down, then annotated, then explained IN REALLY BIG LETTERS. Good grief if we can read books, and listen to the radio, surely we don't need everything laid out for us.
I once saw a production of Henry IV (pt 1) done by the RSC with no set and everyday clothes, after about 5 minutes you forgot that they weren't there.
Everbody needs my time at the moment unfortunately, work is just a large chunk of it. Still i'm a chap...........i'll cope
Good evening

I saw MacBeth done with 5 chairs and some pieces of fabric that the actors tied on to become the weird sisters. Very cool.
Hope things calm down & your time becomes your own again. Only in a good way. Not in an I have lots of free time because something awful happened sort of way. I'll just be quiet now.
Good evening

Ah i see someone else is a big fan of 'The monkey's paw'.
MacBeth done with 5 chairs?, i thought he was stabbed.........must be one of these contemporary plays. That comment has just made me realise i don't know how he was murdered ( I've never got around to the Scottish play).
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted Aug 21, 2003
Don't remember how MacBeth died. Let's see... he stabbed Banquo... then Banquo's son killed MacBeth... sword? dagger? Hmm...
Good evening

Well it's too late to call CSI now, that was abot 400 years ago.
I must read MacBeth one day. Do you really call it the Scottish play in acting circles?, and not let people backstage? I love superstitions, i always try to work out how they came about.
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted Aug 21, 2003
We really don't let people backstage. The line set system used to raise & lower scenery, backdrops, lights, etc. is based on the pulley system for ship rigging. The first people to work backstage were sailors. They weren't allowed to backstage because then they wouldn't hear the boatswain's commands.

Ahhhh a good one, see there's always a reson for the old nonsense back in the past. I like the unlucky third light one from WW1, first light alerted the sniper ,second he aimed, third...........oooohhhh unlucky. Religion has loads too, like not eating pork. Dammed good idea in a desert with no fridge, little less relevant today.
Good evening

Owwwww don't It makes my eyes water just to think of it.Why 8 days ? I know i don't really want to hear this.
Good evening
Emee, out from under the rock Posted Aug 22, 2003
There's actually an increase in the body's immune system on the 8th day that helps fight off infection as well as a change in the clotting factor in the blood.

It's funny how some things just 'stick' isn't it, no possible use to anyone, but they lurk away in the deepest recesses of your mind til one day 'POP' out they come.
Talking of college, did i tell you i'm starting evening classes in September? Archaeology...........i've even bought a new trowel
Good evening
airscotia-back by popular demand Posted Aug 22, 2003
Hey that's right, all Archaeologists are a bit dotty, and have some sort of dress defect.. Perhaps i'll wear those really long shorts, and grow a big bushy beard .
I can't wait to start, i need a challenge, i can feel my brain going soft
Good evening
