Poor jaZZ having troubles tonight?

I have xp office and I hate it. Maybe I just got a lemon of a computer.
I have heard XP home is smoother. IE Explorer 6 is good to mesmiley - ok

I do like Norton Anti-Virus and pay for that yearly.

That's what I anticipate I'll be getting abbi, xp home (although, have to wait & see - my brother had said he could install it - xp. He didn't go into any specifics though.) I 'm also curious - have to ask my cousin - if it's possible to have 2 firewalls running at the same time/in conjunction ...I don't care whether or not it's Necessary, if it's possible I Need it done yesterday, as they say! smiley - winkeye I'm thinking the built-in firewall (with xp) then either the latest Norton product, Zone Alarm like I've got now or the Tiny personal firewall. Spam & e-mail filtering is something I'll need to look into more too...

2 software firewalls could stop both from working correctly!

I use zone alarm http://www.zonelab.com/ free version, wich is according to the people who know one of the best.

waring
do not use zone alarm pro registered copy of some one else, because you have no rights if somthing goes wrong.

I suspected that might be the case pheloxi, that one firewall might seriously interfere with the other one. So smiley - ta for confirming my suspicions! Yes, that's what I'm currently using - Zone Alarm's free version. smiley - smiley

How are you? Haven't talked in quite awhile ...it's 4 C right now expected to go up to 22 later, & quite sunny.

Hi Folkssmiley - biggrin, Ive got Windows ME, and its smiley - ok, watch out if you have two different firewalls though, as one might clash with the other, leaving your PC even more exposedsmiley - erm

Ive still got his problem to sort out with that hacker who put that porn bill on to mesmiley - wah,

Yet the site seems to be running smiley - ok Tonight, smiley - coolsmiley - winkeye

And this morning. When I installed Norton it automatically turned off the XP firewall, like most manufacturers they advise that their product will not protect you if used in conjunction with others, so dont (!) mix with other peoples stuff.

Having listened to an extremely frustrated Frenchman rant on about Norton, Norman, Zone Alarm, Zone Alert, Anti-pop-up, anti spam, firewalls, spyware, hackers, backers, trackers & absolute cobblers for the last 10 days or so...i reckon the whole thing is so much trouble, i am much better off with my own technique, which is absolute heresy!

I don't have an anti-virus thingy or anti anything thingy 'cos i haven't a clue about them. On two occasions i got something yukky, but sorted it by upgrading my Windows thingy (many thanks tone!<ok) My windows thingy is 98, but my Word thingy is 97. They seem to play together nicely.

Anyway, my ancient Beast right now is working whereas his is driving him into a frenzy ; I reckon less is more personally!

*all this could change in 10 seconds time of course. Computer logic? Don't make mesmiley - laugh*

The secret is to have a little statue of the laughing Buddha on top of your Beast, honest!smiley - winkeyesmiley - zen
