My 83 year old Godmother is out of surgery.
Being left with a colostomy and all else is well, with her heart, and other major systems.
Yay!
She is a dear person I will never be ready to loose.
It's a relief to me, for now.
She is not expecting to keep the colostomy.
I hope she will do OK ,they are saying she will have to keep it.
She is one tough cookie.
My brother seems ok too!
Ah ~ so nice to hear this news!

I thought you all could use some good news on my pagesince you are kind enough to still come here.
I skipped posting my pre-op concerns for that very reason.
She has chosen "do not resuscitate"

My Dad had the same orders on his charts. It's always good to know there was no reason to even check the orders, but eventually, there was a reason to check Dad's orders.
To quote Also Ran 1 (loosely): Ten out of ten people die, in the end.

I don't bother with them. I *know* that this physical body is going to wear out eventually.
Granted, how I take care of it *will* affect how I feel while I'm here, but there's no way to prolong this life indefinitely.

Cheery thought ;once you`re fully conscious of yourself, you start to die.Or when you`re 28yrs. old......

I think the thirties are the all around prime time period for adult life. The rest is Ok too.
I think all ages have a plus of some sort.
I am counting it

Dear Abbi,
You deserve all the happiness you can get. Nice to see you dropped in on the weird world of Grimley Moer, and in rhyme too. I hope it is amusing enough to give you ( and any passing lurkers ) a good laugh.
"Old age is HELL, dahling," as my old Mum used to say. Well, incipient decrepitude gets us all sooner or later. But there is always the new life. My youngest, unmarried son ( 20 ) just informed me that I'm en route to becoming a grandfather, !
Well, actually, I'm thrilled to bits. His girlfriend is delightful, good-looking, very intelligent, and five years older than he is, so is just finishing her degree. They had a bit of a wobbly at five weeks, bleeding, but all is well now, it seems. And it made them both realise how very much they want their baby to live.( Despite intense pressure from her grandmother (!!!) to have an abortion.)
It will be a Capricorn, like its Dad, and my Dad!
Thought you might be amused.
Bye,
wallah

I liked the rhymes.
They have been entertaining
I wanted to let you know, in rhyme time!
Nice to see you.
Congrats on becoming a grandparent soon Chaiwallah!
I hope all is smooth with the pregnancy from here on.
You are right about new life coming along as steady as the older lives passing. Changing familyscapes
