Irrelevant call for 'HAYULP'

Of course, that's "HELP" pronounced in a pathetic, girly, eternal-Newbie sort of way. The Plain-Skin thing is great (pat on the back for its inventor!) but does any similarly clever soul know how to stop a Telewest digibox from "always remembering me"? Many moons ago, ticking that little box seemed such a good idea but it soon started to drive me insane!! (& a third "!") you can't even logoff & lurk. I often have to suppress the urge to murder Mr Telewest, mutilate the body & display the corpse as part of a ritualistic tableau!
(Note for Militant Moderators: I neither condone, nor partake in, gothic revenge killings, I'm merely exaggerating (?) my fury for "comic" effect. & Mr Telewest doesn't exist anyway!)

*waves* Hi Kow....
Hi Element....
You made the same mistake as I did..that instruction to.."Remember me on this Computer"..is enbeded in your digibox memory....
I tried everything I could think of..
I tried sending the link to my different activemail email addy..I tried getting a friend with a pc to send me another link..nothing worked..more....
If your good at technical 'stuff'..&..you don't mind risking messing up your digibox..&..having to pay TW to put it right..you could ask aka..@ A700200 I didn't follow his advice..too technical for me....
How I got free of this constraint was..I had too many sent emails..&..couldn't access..sent emails to delete them..(was slowing digibox down)..after several complaints of slowness..a TW technician came to look at 'box' and decided the best thing was if all emails were deleted..by TW HQ..If I remember correctly..I lost all my emails..I got a friend to send me a 'magic email' & I was free....

then again "gothic" might have nothing to do with the modern goths...
there was a batman story set in a "gothic" gotham a few years ago... had more to do with Middle Ages references than anything else...
so yep, the idea "gothic" kind of killing when it comes to the darn digibox also [symbolically] crosses my mind at times...

Just logout? If only! From the depths of my torment I envy the innocence of PC users
The Deletey Emaily Thingy sounded great ... until that crucial addendum. & sadly I'm about as technical as a (erm)... a (umm)... a fluffy rabbit with ... an organic carrot!?! No that doesn't make sense, just insert your own "technical antithesis" analogy. But infinite thanks for the links, I'll check 'em out.
I'd better clear up the semantic squabble,
GOTH'IC adjective.
1: of Goths.
2: barbarous.
3: of the arch style common in Europe from 12th to 16th century.
I meant the 2nd context, so all severely raven-haired, heavily made-up youths can sleep safe in their quasi-sarcastic beds. My only nemesis is Telewest & His glitch-ridden extravaganza.

i got supernatural on my dictionary as well... now _that_'s could be an interesting way of dealing with telewest... err symbolically of course...
i actually don't use the "remind me on that computer" thingy... or i should say: not anymore...
because i need to access two accounts [mine and the LDers'one] i also do a lot of loggin out...
if i go offline without loggin out i come back into the account i was before.. which is normal..
i will have a look at what aka wrote tho'... he experienced the pleasures of using a digibox on here at the beginning [long before the plain skin and 360 trick...] and came up with some interesting stuff...
mmmmm... my posting is not really helping there...
i was kinda thinking aloud in a way...
talk soon....

hi everyone...
for forgetting my manners and not saying hi earlier by the way...
yep... the warning about the "remember me " thingy is definitely a must... emmily...
had an idea ... might not necessairily work but with the digibox we never know...
if anyone who has probs with it could email manda with their details [manda's email addy is on the LDers space U201567]... he might be able to log in and out their account time to time... of course it would mean that they have to make sure that they've logged out... then with the 60 seconds unplugging trick, the machine might behave a bit better...
i thought of that because as i said i'm accessing two accounts... the LDers space is regularly accessed by manda [most of the time on PC] and myself [most of the time on digibox] and there haven't been any probs yet even so the space is full of activities and infos...
my account has been accessed by manda at times too when i needed some cutting and pasting to be done urgently and of course, when i'm at the cybercaf i usually access my loup dargent's account via the PC...
worth a try methinks...
talk soon...

I'm experiencing the same with TVemail, it might have something to do with the interactive FA cup and Six Nations, it's a pain though

all this talk of [symbolic] revenge killing [gothic, barbarian or supernatural] must have worked...
i accessed my TV email after only three attempts... not bad considering....
one update for everyone: we've got an advice corner in the FoLDers Arms now...
it will be easier to spot the queries as it's easy to miss a thread while replying to others [it has happened to me a few times
]
the questions and /or the replies will also have less chance to be buried under other postings [will do my "sergeant major impersonisation" to keep that particular thread as free as possible of off topic discussions as possible]... the good thing is that we will still be able to have a
while answering questions...
talk later everyone...
