Well Folks I'm going to be out of town for a few days and offline to boot. So I'm not ignoring you .
I'll try and catch up next weekend but if there are any particular things you do not wish me to miss drop me a message.

Five goes mad in Mid-Wales
Posted Jan 7, 2004
Well another great anniversary happened yesterday. My youngest was five years old. We never thought he'd reach it as he is a disaster magnet (which reminds me I have to check that our payment to the French National Health Service Casualty unit has gone through...).
He's as bright as a button, with not a nasty bone in his body (other than when he's fighting with his sisters), and as mad as a bag of weasels. He is also a morning person like his dad, so we both get up at dawn.
I'm really looking forward to/dreading what he'll find to injure himself with in the coming year, but hey who said parenting would be easy?
Life goes on...

Sweet Sixteen
Posted Dec 14, 2003
My eldest daughter turned sweet sixteen yesterday!
Don't that make me feel old.... time for the walking stick and the briar pipe I think (except that I have a 7 and 4 year old to keep me young ).
Such events do make one reflective though. I don't know why but I have been blessed by a mature, thoughtful and beautiful young woman. It certaintly isn't my parenting skills that's for sure.
I often wonder what highs and lows life will have in store for her? All I do know is that I can't live her life for her, or my ambitions through her. She will walk her own road and all I can do is watch and lend what little wisdom I have when she falls into the many puddles and briar patches along the way.
Ain't life wonderful?
Blessings,

Off on a jolly.... :)
Posted Nov 26, 2003
Well its that time of year again. The Pagan Federation Annual conference is on this Saturday and I have a ticket (courtesy of a good friend).
If any of you are attending I shall be manning my friend's stall. It's the one selling both his excellent and authentic celtic jewellry and my badly daubed pebbles. He is the short, good-looking celt, and I'm the taller, fatter, nordic type getting the prices wrong (ask for 'Craig', not 'Math').
So don't expect me here at the weekend.
Blessings,

Collateral Damage
Posted Nov 19, 2003
In honour of the President's visit I republish this little homily to his success in Iraq.
Collateral Damage.
A woman lies in an empty street,
Flies crawl over the rotting meat,
Her pretty smile no longer sweet,
She’s just collateral damage.
A young boy moans in a dusty ward,
His family’s gone so he’s ignored,
A shell fragment severed his spinal cord,
He’s just collateral damage.
The market’s empty, the people fled,
Just dog’s remain, and they’re well fed,
I still can’t get it into my head,
It’s just collateral damage.
A soldier stares at his burning tank,
It’s “blue on blue” he’s got to thank,
For Bill, for John, for Bob, for Frank,
But they’re just collateral damage.
An Imam cries in a roofless hall,
His God will not return his call,
His faith destroyed in the missile’s fall,
He’s just collateral damage.
The Torah, the Bible and the Koran,
All claim to reveal their God’s plan,
How can they justify to this man,
That he’s just collateral damage?
The truth lies buried in the sand,
Hidden there by the politician’s hand,
So we’ll never come to understand,
What’s really collateral damage.
That more will die from filthy water,
Than in the fiercest battle slaughter,
It’s not news, though it oughta,
It’s just collateral damage.
Across the sea, Bush basks in glory,
But he ain’t telling the whole story,
His electors don’t need to see the gory
Reality of collateral damage.
He is a man well satisfied,
He has restored his father’s pride,
No matter that so many died,
They’re just collateral damage.
Blessings,
