.....candle lit in South Devon, England ...
... the glass candleholder is reflecting the warm flamelight .. creating curious dancing light and shadow shapes on the wall ... turning into eagles' wings ... and a sonic thought ... turning to orange crystal tears .. a flickering whisper .. and a fountain of memories ...
....and a wonder and a thankyou for the Marilyn who was you ..... and later I am going to switch on our lava lamp for you ...and watch the orange bubbles glooping through their purple ocean .. because I know you would have loved that .. and find it kind of funny ...
and that undying flame-spirit shines on ...
connecting us all somehow ....
I do feel ...
crying here .... but OK crying ...
and thinking of you dearest Hyp luv .... and all your family ....
and the rather amazing community that is h2g2 ..

I lit the candle in the local church. I hope it's still burning there.

We lit a large white candle, and put it in our bedroom window, so its light goes out westward into the evening sunset.

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Oct 10, 2008
I didn't photograph mine.
But I had two candles burning (one for Dmitri's uncle as well) on the kitchen table, with a pot of tea to keep them company, because it seemed appropriate.
And plugged in my star-shaped lights for the first time this year.

Was duly lit in Sheffield, on time.
Nearly burned down now. We will see it out, then turn in.

I attended a celebration of an organisation which has provided education, information, debate and cultural events for workers for 100 years. Picked out one of the candles at the table to be for Lady C and had along moment of silence thinking about her and all of you.

I'm sorry Hyp, I haven't been on h2g2 for the past few days and I missed the candle lighting. Hope the service went well.

I didn't think to take a picture of the candle, I'm afraid.
Hope the service went well and gave her the tribute she deserved.

I set my alarm to make sure I remembered to light Marilyn's candle, which had a light flowery scent, one I think is appropritate to Lady C, with her taglines calling for Spring to come.
I also listened to both the Willie Nelson songs Ben named, don't know which was the right one. I'll be getting a Willie Nelson CD -- I forgot how many of his songs I liked. I'm probably going to think of Lady C every time I listen.
