Sure... but I wouldn't go buying their albums before I'd listened to them... they are quite noisy...
Well, of course it's a different paper, but yeah, you can sit it as many times as you like until you get it right. But if you don't manage it the couple of first times, you have to pay to be allowed to take it again.
I think it is important to have that system, because you can secure yourself from performing poorly because of, let's say, a headache...
Sure... I'll lend them an ear, a musician must be broadly orineted.
Oh, I thought you had written that you were in Italy today... Silly me... I was starting to wonder just how affluent you were.... YAY Italian will probably be fun... And once you know all those languages, you'll be quadrolingual... Now that's amazing
.
Hahahaha... I figured you'd get fatigued sooner or later... It comes from all the tension... Sleep well...
Ahh... I went to my piano lesson today without having practiced, it was horrible... You'd better get down to it...

i listen to quite noisy music anyway to be honest!
I think that's a really good system too. Even if you do have to pay it would be worth it to get the grade you deserve.
In Italy?! Gosh no. My mum doesn't have enough money for us to go on holiday. I've only been abroad once and that was to Paris 3 years ago for 3 days! Gosh i'll be lucky if i manage to learn Italian. I thought it was going to be pretty similar to Spanish but it isn't really.
I came out of my French class and i was queuing in the loos when 3 girls came in and they were all speaking French. I didn't know what they were saying and it's made me even more determined to get good at French.
i've got my piano lesson in about 35 minutes. I've practiced but I'm still not that great!
Spk soon!

Yeah, but maybe not THIS noisy... just a thought, I wouldn't know, though...
Yup, and you usually get a couple of chances before that... It allows people to correct teir past mistakes, so I'm very happy to have that system...
Oh... I'm abroad almost every year... Not this year, though. We went to Thailand last year, so this year we went for a walk in the mountains instead...
Do you travel within GB/Scotland then? Or do you just stay put throughout the holidays?
Well, good luck (is that bonne chance? I'm terrible at French...).
Oh, I'm sure it'll be allright.
Um... sure... WRITE soon

Oki, I don't drink coke though... I'm attempting to do some ethical consumerism. Not that I manage to though, but I manage to avoid The Coca Cola Company and MC.Donalds... Also, I went to the doctor yesterday, and he said that I might be allrgic to sugar, so I'll have to avoid eating sugar for six weeks and see what happens... Arrrrgh.
Wee... so I remember something... It was written on the bottom of all our french tests.
Oh... what sort of theory would that be? I'm getting curious here...
No, I'm not worrying, only joking.
I'm currently listening to a great jazz band... Come shine, they're a Norwegian quintet, playing only evergreens. The drummers is a total genious, and the pianist is also quite good... I recommend them, but I dunno if you can get hold of a CD anywhere in the UK... Also... a great place to look for music, if you haven't allready heard of it: www.audiophileimports.com. At least if you're a drummer... You can search by instrumentalists, and get listings of all the CD's they have, and which bands they've played in... I think you'll find something of interest there...

I don't really like cola much either but i do drink it in england!lol i drink orange juice mostly. i don't eat from McDonalds either. I've only had a burger from there once in my life. I don't eat burgers... or red meat in general for that matter. No sugar for 6 weeks?! Rather your than me! I couldn't do that... can you still have crisps though? I have to admit to being addicted to crisps.
The theory? Oh gosh. now you're asking! It's basically practice in working out the major key from a minor key and writing out the scale. I forget the heading of the chapter. I shall tell you tomorrow when i actually get round to doing the theory!
That sounds cool. I shall check out that website next time im on the net.
well i better go. Im not in college till the afternoon tomorrow but im totally knackered. Needing my beauty sleep too!

Ahh... great. I don't mean to be snobby or anything btw, I just try to buy products that aren't made by fat-rich companies with no ethics... Well, I can do it... I think, I just have to try and eat other things when I get hungry... But I can still eat crisps... yes... thank god for that...
Ahh... I've done that... We have theory classes with that sort of stuff... I wonder... how do you do it... though?
Do you use that circle-thingy (I dunno what it's called in english, but that's what I use), or do you have to figure it out manually (by counting whole and half tones in a scale)?
I see... Well, I just got home, and I'm wasted... I'm supposed to go to this political meeting, only I dunno if i can be bothered, I'm just too tired...

Tiara.Kitten*Valentine Cat* Posted Aug 29, 2003
yeah i can see your point. Crisps! Yaay! Sorry... i love crisps too much!
I just work it out manually. It's really tedious and boring i think. I've never used a circle thing to work out scales before.:0
You're wasted?! Gosh i got the wrong idea there! Mostly over here if someone told me they were wasted i'd take it to mean they were drunk!

Mr. Carrot Posted Aug 29, 2003
No problem... I used to be addicted to crisps too...
Hmmm... it's quite handy, it helps you remember how many crosses or b's a certain key has... minor and major can be found by going a small third up... it's a handy reference...
We have a jingle in norwegian to remember it... actually, we have two, one for the sharps and one for the b's...
Anyway, the principle is that you start out from C major, and you go up a quint/fifth to the next key, which has one sharp(that would be g major)(when I say sharp, I mean #) you write G next to C, following the circle clockwise, then you go up another fifth, to D major, which has two sharps, and so on...
With the b's, you do the same, you start out from C, and then you go down a fifth to f, which has one b, and so on...
Oh, wrong idiom, I see... No, I'm not drunk, I'm exhausted... I don't really drink a lot of alcohol, because I think being drunk is hellishly uncomfortable (and I've never been very drunk, I just went to the point where I started feelin an effect...). I might have a glass of wine, occasionally, but that's it... How about you?
Hmmm... I'll see if i can find a picture of the quint circle somewhere...

Oh thank u sweetie. i'll check out that link.
Well you weren't wrong to use wasted. I guess i have heard it being used to mean tired but it definitely gets used to mean drunk too... i think anyway!lol
gosh... im watching the film Sid And Nancy just now... it's too loud!lol too much screaming and shouting!lol
im going into town with my friend Mary tomorrow to get gig tickets. We're going to see Skin... have you heard of her? She was in the band Skunk Anansie. We're really going because the support band is our beloved Easyworld but we love Skin too... gosh i hope it hasnt sold out!:
yaay! i found out from Mary tonight that i'm getting the French and Spanish prizes at the prizegiving this year. Yaay! Only one person in the whole year can get the prize for each subject... does that make sense at all?! Basically no-one else can get French or Spanish so i'm going to be like the little language person! I always wanted to be that!lol

oh have you got the pictures from the school catalogue yet?
We'll just continue the conversation in here...
Mr. Carrot Posted Aug 30, 2003
Hehe... well, let's just say that we don't usually learn expressions of that nature in the school english lessons...
Hmm... never heard of that film... what's it about?
Ahh.. well, i haven't heard skin, but I do know the band Skunk Anansie, I have a CD with them, "Post Orgasmic Chill".
We actually used one of their songs for a dance project (Yes we had mandatory dance lessons two hours every week, for a whole year)... I'm sure you'll get tickets...
Prizes? Congratulations, and, please explain (I don't think we have that in Norway)... Why couldn't anyone else get the prizes btw?
Sorry, they haven't come yet, I'll be sure to tell you when they do...

The link crashed the digibox???
Strange, it works perfectly with my computer...
Anyway, all you really have to do, is to go to google and do an image Search on "Circle of Fifths". If you do that, you'll find loads of informative pages on the thing, and you'll get to see the picture of it too...

Sid And Nancy? oh it's about the destructive love of Sid Vicious(Sex Pistols bassist) and Nancy Spungen(a groupie/his girfriend). Its basically about his decline and addiction to drugs and how he apparently murdered Nancy when on a high. Cheery stuff.lol
I didnt get tickets!!!! The gig has been cancelled. Im all upset. Or at least i was when i found out. Couldn't believe it.
The prizes? Och im basically going to be getting a piece of laminated card!lol... i wish they would give us book vouchers... but alas they don't. Well no-one else can get the prizes that you get because the prizes represent that you were best in the year for the subjects you have been awarded prizes for... im not sure that makes sense either!
Och that's okay. Can't wait to see them though!

Hahahhaa... yeah, really cheery. Reminds me of a dream theater concept album: "Metropolis pt.2, Scenes From A Memory". I dunno why though, the plot is completely different, though it does include murder. But sometimes depressive movies can be the ones that really tell you something. You're left in shock, and you start thinking about things in a new way. Mind you, you'd better be of good psychological health if you intend to watch a movie like that....
No, that's too bad... I'm sorry...
Hmmm... I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but does this mean that you were the best student of the year in French AND Spanish? And you said you were terrible in French? I think you must be quite talented, especially with languages... Congratulations, anyway!
Yeah, I'll tell you when they arrive... There will also be a picture of me available on the school vebsite... But I haven't decided what I should do to "spice" that one up... Any suggestions?
I just got back from a meeting about the Bosnia-thingy... I'm beginning to look forward to this... It'll be VERY exciting, and I bet I'll learn loads from it. But I think It'll be tough too, meeting people on my own age who's been throug war, and seen some terrible things... Anyway, It'll be inspiring, to say the least, to work with lokal musicians and try and produce something together...

Cool... do all the songs by Dream Theater have a proper story to go with it? that's cool. I only know one album like that and that's Nilsson The Point. Have you heard of it?
Well yeah that's what it means but you should bear in mind that there wer eonly about 10 other people in my French class so i wasn't really competing against the whole year. There were 2 Spanish classes so there were roughly 30 people i was competing with for Spanish but im now actually not sure if im getting the Spanish prize. My friend Gemma e-mailed me and told me im getting the French prize but didn't mention Spanish so i think Mary may have got it wrong... i shall find out soon!
Cool! Well i think you should wear stockings and suspenders! yaay! Lol... hmmmm okay perhaps a tutu? You could share it with Kristian!
That sounds really great. When will you be going to Bosnia?
