hello again!
That's a shame you can't make the September date. It's very soon though isn't it? Will you only know the winter gig dates one month in advance? Isn't that too short notice for you?
Im not sure i will be at the gig in September. I might though. I will look out for the single too. Do you know when that will be released?

No, some do... but not all of them... But they usually have references to ohter works or real life stories... They have one song that's linked to an old homerian epic... No, never heard of it, is it any good?
Well, good luck... I'm convinced anyway, that you are not untalented... no matter what happens with the prizes
Hmmm... good idea... but... maybe not... I'll see what I come up with... I'm thinking about putting a towel around my head... like they do in the soap operas...
Well, we have this thing called the "autumn vacation", it's in about four weeks, so I'll be going then. I'm at school now, so I can't look up the dates...

I dunno when I'll get to know about the winter gigs... but one month in advance will be quite allright... I think... Anyway, I can probably ask my brother, he'll probably be able to tell me at least the rough plans in advance... There is one problem though... I'm dependent on the gig being in the weekend or during the winter vacation (not easter, I can't go in the easter, because I intend to lock myeslf in this great big hall with 5000 other computer geeks for easter).
Hmm... It says in the mail that I got from them, but I can't check that now... I'll se when I get home...

The Point is about a little boy who is born with a rounded head... kinda like a Conehead. All the other people in his town have pointed heads. He gets banished from the town for being different. It's obviously about prejudism and i suppose the simplistic story kinda suggests its for kids but it's good all the same! Actually i forgot to say the narrative is spoken over the music!
Well ta! I've yet to find out about the prizes.
They put towels on their heads in soap operas? hmmmm... interesting!lol must be a Norwegian thing.
Oooo! The autumn vacation you say? We don't get that!lol... however im off this thursday and i wasnt supposed ot be so i can't complain about anything just now.

Oh andi meant to say... the music in The Point isn't heavy or rocky. I don't know how to explain it really.
What time is it in Norway just now? i always meant to ask if there is a time difference.
oh and i also always meant to say that we do start primary school over here when we are 5. Well some of us are 4 actually. Just depends when you were born.

Ahh... well, we have some stories like that in norway too, where the lyrics are spoken over the music... We'll be doing something like that in the orchestra, actually, and we're doing something like that in the school choir too... But both those pieces are classical...
Naw, the towel-thingy is, I believe, American... It's done in the old soap-operas, usually combined with a face-mask and cucumbers covering the eyes (very feminine thing)...
Well, you'll laugh when you hear the historical background of that vacation... It always comes when it's time for the potato harvest, in the good old days (like pre-WW2), every kid got a one-week vacation to go help out with the potatoes on the nearest farm... Nowadays we have technology to do the job, but we still get the vacation...
Hmmm, well, the odds are pretty bad, but I spoke to my teacher today, and he says that if I can prove that I'm actually attending something cultural and musical (like a rock gig, but preferably a classical concert), he'll let me go, and have a couple of days off... So, when the tour dates come, it's time to see if there's anything classical going on in Scotland... Ohhh... I hope they'll set up Berlioz' Requiem or something... That'd be great... But we'll see... don't kill the hope yet...
Well, the time here is GMT+1, which means that we are one hour ahead of you, it's 22:46 here right now, and I guess that means that it's 21:46 in Glasgow.

Ah cool!
Oh yeahi see what you mean about the towel thingy. Yeah tis American. Very feminine. Well that's a good thing i think. I like men to be in touch with their feminine sides!
Gosh lucky you eh? A holiday for nothing! Well you will be off doing voluntary work so you most definitely won't be doing nothing.
Ooooh yeah you have to persuade him! If you were coming to the Septmeber one you could have said you were going to see "Blood Brothers"!lol... Im going to see that this Saturday.
Yup that was the time.

Now you get it... well, I just found out that the photo that's to be used on the website was taken this spring... And I don't think I did anything special on that pic... oh well, there'll be other times...
Naw, that's right, we'll be working for 8-9 hours every day, with developing music... It'll be exhausting, but great fun.
I'll try... I just remembered that he's a HUGE fan of Leeds football club... So If I tell him I'm going to watch a footy match, he'll probably let me off with that as well... Not that I'm interested in football, though...
Hmm... btw. how long are your schooldays? We usually work from 8:30 to 15:00, sometimes 16:00...

Och that's okay im sure it'll be lovely! Just tell me when it's up on the net and i'll go have a look.
Devleoping music? Sounds interesting... You won't exactly be bored will you Oyvind?!
Ah cool... he'll let you go methinx! You don't like football? Do you like shopping by any chance?! Gosh you're perfect!lol... i don't mind football really... i'll watch it now and again.
... i don't like shopping much either mind... that's cuz i rarely have much money!
Our schooldays? Well a typical school day lasts from 09.00 till 15.30. Primary schools are on from 09.00 until 15.00. My days at college are all over the place. My longest day is a Tuesday when im in from 09.00 until 16.30. Mind you it takes me about an hour and a half to get home because of the train times.
Still i can't complain... im off college tomorrow!yaay!(Lecturer can't make it)

Okay... will do...
No, I'll have a great time, and it looks to be interesting... We'll have five days to make some sort of product... It's to be about the UN child convention... And we'll have a day to go sight-seeing in Sarajevo, and a couple of days of swimming in the Mediterranian sea, in Dubrovnik...
Well, I like football, if there are LOADS of goals... like when Norway beat brazil 4-2... that was a great game... but football ususally tends to get too defensive... Besides, I prefer weird sports... I'm terrible in most sports, but I do well in Badminton, for some reason... And the girls in my class had a bit of fun, when they discovered that I was better than many of them at "slengtau" (that's like a skiprope, only longer, and two people swing it), I even did double ropes...
Hmmm... well, now you mention it... I do like shopping, provided I have money to spend... I also like to walk around in shops, just looking, and I buy lots of CD's...
Ahh... Well, we even more in common, I also have to spend an hour and a half to get home... the bloody coach times are always against me... It must be some sort of conspiracy... But, it enables me to practice the piano at school, and the tympani, and the bloody marimba... Oh, I really don't like marimbas.. But I'll have to try and learn to enjoy it...
Hmmm... don't you get substitutes? I can't remember ever getting off school because the lecturer can't make it...

So, how was your day off? What did you do?

Tiara.Kitten*Valentine Cat* Posted Sep 4, 2003
Hiya Øyvind!
Well sounds like fun anyway i think! but tiring too.
Are your friends all going? Kristian?
Yeah i hate watching football if its nil each. That is boring. Its far better if its like a really big, important match and the scores are really close until the end.: Watching the big Celtic match in Seville was good. I saw a flag which said "blantyre" on it!!!! That's the wee town where i come from!
Oh skiprope! Fun! Actually i know a boy who was the best at skiprope at our primary school. Sometimes guys can be better at these things...
Oh yeah gawd... shopping is hellish if you have no money. I alway seem to see things i want when im totally skint!
Same here. The train times couldn't be any more unsuitable for me. I always miss a train by about 5 minutes and have to wait an hour for the next one.
We used to get substitute teachers at high school but not at college. I haven't did much with my day off. Revised the Preterito Grave for Spanish and now im at the library playing around on the net. Not very productive eh?!Lol the day has went in really quick actually.
Well im gonna go off home now but i'll check my messages when i get in. Quite a few of my friends have e-mailed me today when they were in classes at school... they obviously aint doing much work either!

Hello again Øyvind!
I forgot to mention that I found out today that I am getting both the French and Spanish prizes at the school prizegiving. I was totally convinced i was just getting French so it was very nice news.

Hi!
Naw, we're only four, Aleksander, Mari (that's Mary), Tina and me...
But that's quite enough... I think this will be a good opportunity for me to get to know Aleks a wee bit better...
Ooooh YAY... I've never seen anyone with a poster/banner/flag saying "Kana" on any footy match... Possibly because there are NO people here.... Well, there are a couple of farmers, and their familys, and this HUGE golf course... but nothing more... It's nice in the summer, though... Holmsbu is a tourist-paradise...
Well, my explanation is that I'm a drummer, and that playing skiprope is all about keeping the beat...
I agree. I think it's because I only notice things that I would usually have bought when I cannot buy them... If I had any money, I would have bought whatever I wanted, used it, and then never really thought about it...
Hmmm... well, I don't have that dilemma, but the coaches only leave once every two hours, and it's not in sync with my schoolday at all...
Ahh... I see... of course... College... right...
Haha... that's what I always do when I get a day off... NOTHING... it's lovely... hours and hours of computer gaming, reading books, playing drums, and hanging out with friends (but I have to travel far to meet any of my friends, so that doesn't happen all too often).
Wee... I'm going to a classical concert this Sunday... Two of my classmates study at Barat Due, a Norwegian music school, they only have room for the best of the best... Anyway, they're playing Tchaikovsky and Sibelius, and I think they said Beethoven... It'll be really exciting...

Helloooo again.
I of course now cannot make your fancy O cuz im not at the library. i miss it... it's fun!lol
Do you know Tina and Mari well already? We have the name Mari over here too.
Gosh sounds pretty desolate... You don't mind it though? Im just used to living in a quiet village but all i have to do is jump on a train and in 20 minutes im in bustling Glasgow.
Yeah days off that come as a surprise are always the best... not good fun getting up the next day though. Having said that im only in college tomorrow afternoon. Mind you i'll be up fairly early learning my Spanish vocab... oh such fun.lol
yaay! Sounds like fun! I don't think i've been to a proper classical concert before. Been to plenty theatre productions but never went to see an orchestra. I think i was supposed to go with the school but (as usual) it didn't come about. Anyway have fun!

Thank you very much! iT should probably be "Good Luck" that you're wishing me though... i have to sit through one of my headmistresses legendary hour-long speeches and not yawn my head off... gosh... should be a challenge at least...! Plus i have to wear my school blaze... still i shall take great pleasure in knowing i shall never have to wear the hideous thing again.
