Fine thankyou. I just got my train tracks tightened so my teeth hurt a bit. Otherwise fine! How are you?

I'm in a lot of bands! I play the trombone, but the main band I was playing with yesterday was a ska/jazz/rock band that me and my mates have organised... I play in loads of other bands though... even went on tour with one of them!

That sounds like fun! My fingers are short (as is my attention span), so I'm not too good with instruments. Where did you tour to?

So, what are your hobbies?

Nothing really, I just go out with my friends and read a lot! Pretty boring really. What was it like in Germany? Did many people come to see you?

we had quite a few... but we were playing in quite public places so a lot of them just walked up, listened for a bit and walked off (it wasn't a tour where people pay to see our concerts or anything). What sort of books do you read then?

Kiddie books really - Artemis Fowl, Darren Shan, Discworld, Hitchiker's (obviously), I'm hoping to start the His Dark Materials trilogy later on, it sounds good. Oh and I've read HP and Lord of the Rings, but I don't like Harry Potter that much because, well, it's rubbish. Do you read many books?

TBC Posted Feb 7, 2004
yeah... I've got too many books! I've read the Harry Potters, I liked them, though I don't think that they are the best books I've ever read... I have also read the first Artemis Fowl book but I never really got round to reading the others. Also I finished it the day I got it, which slightly put me off! Then again I guess that was my fault for reading too fast! I've read LOTR and His Dark Materials. HDM are good... I won't say any more though; I'll let you read them and get your own opinion.
I read loads of stuff... quite a lot of sci-fi and also quite a lot of fantasy (as in LOTR type stuff, not the other sort of fantasy!)... currently I'm reading the "Nights Dawn" trilogy which, IMO is gr8!

I got a bit put off by the Artemis Fowl books being so short. Also the text is massive and usually that means the book is going to be boring. What's Nights Dawn about? Have you heard of Darren Shan books?

Nights Dawn is a sci-fi ish thing in which the golden age of humanity is ruined when the dead start taking over normal people... I've never heard of Darren Shan, what are they about?

That sounds like a cool book/series! Darren Shan books are a fake autobiography (the author is called Darren Shan) about a teenage boy who becomes a vampire, and his life as he grows up. There are ten books so far, and they're all very good (but really short). You can actually see how he gets better at writing as it goes on (as I was discussing with my friend earlier this week. I've heard that the author's real last name isn't Shan but I don't know if it's true.

thats . I really should read some other stuff sometime... My parents keep telling me to read something classical, like Pride and Prejudice, or something but I don't want to!

Oh I've read Pride and Predjudice. Possibly one of the worst books I have ever read. The plot is reeeeallllyyyy slow! I'd rather read anything else. I'm waiting for my friend to the finish The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime. Why do your parents want you to read something boring?
