I imagine an ACE will be along in a short while to officially greet you, especially since I'm going away tomorrow...but since I'm here, i'll tell you how to do smileys (as I like em). To use them, you can either type : ) or whatever, or put the code between some <>'s, eg < smiley > without the gaps makes You can click on any smiley to see the whole list
By the way, while you're still over there you may like to take a look at <./>A592049</.> to meet some friendly locals

Hey there:)
Friar Posted Jul 20, 2002
Hi there, SM wrote you a hello already, because she is all-good, of course
But I wanted to give you some more info until the ACEs descend with the real welcome.
Welcome to H2G2, I'm glad you've found the site, and hope you enjoy it here.
There's lots of useful, useless, fun and interseting stuff here. Sometimes people are too nice and I need to make fun of them a bit, but then we laugh at other people and all is well.
I've been around this site for a few years, on and off. Creating original pieces of writing, reading the creations of others, chatting and creating a little Universe of my own within the H2G2 realm is awesome. If you run across something and discover that you have a question, ask! It may take a few days to get a response from the author, but you'll probably get one, or start a great conversation.
My name is Friar. I'm from Chicago, Ill., USA. I'm in medical school now, but I'll be finishing in May 2003 *he knocks on wood fervently*
Here's my link page, I've put a bunch of fun and helpful stuff in there: A783902. You'll find a link to the Guardian Angels page there. We like to greet new uses and let them know where to turn for help. We're an unofficial lot, but the ACEs, assistant community editors are the official mett-and-greeters and they do a great job too! I believe I dropped # their page on my list too.
You can find me here: A158503 or in my Junkyard at A777305. I'm usually in the Junkyard researching new stuff.
For a bit of whimsy, here are some gratuitous smilies:
Can I offer you something from the smiley menu?
Find even MORE smileys here: A155909

Hello all
ACE here
I went to school in Oldham but I live in Rochdale which isn't too far away Anyway, as I said elsewhere, if you need any help or advice, I'm the one to ask. I may not know the answer but I can say erm in a very re-assuring tone of voice
All apologies to LucyLu

Don't worry. I'm not scared of a few crazy people. I'm well 'ard, me. I am from Manchester after all.
All apologies to LucyLu

I'm working on an entry for Chicago Style Hot Dogs and Hot Dog stands. As a Chicagoan I consider myself quite the hot dog gormand. . .
