Goodness, Mala! I'd left "Whiskey in the Jar" off the list because I have three versions and couldn't decide which one to add.
I've hit a plateau this time, but I might be able to think of more later when not preoccupied with work. K's offered no input this time.

Something I noticed looking over my list - you should do colours when we're done with this category. Blue is most common, of course, followed by green (in my lists) but I think we can get quite a spectrum together.

I actually thought that myself, yesterday. Colors would be a fun one. I know I've got some blue and green in my lists, too, but I can think of others right off hand. It would be fun to have the weekend to work on that one.

Should I keep this same convo going for the new category, or should I begin a new one each time? Which do you think would be more contributor-friendly?

Okie doke- we'll keep it here. Let's keep the food theme going a bit longer if possible. Even if I haven't thought of any others yet.

I'm going to start our new colors now, since I have a little over a half hour till I leave work and nothing else to do... so here's what I dug up in my Zen.
So, let's compile a playlist of songs with colors in the titles. Any color works. I'll even accept the word "color" in a pinch.

7 Seconds- 99 Red Balloons
Ram Jam- Black Betty
China Crisis- Black Man Ray
TSOL- It's Gray
Clash- White Riot
Jane Wiedlin- Blue Kiss
Frank Zappa- Don't Eat the Yellow Snow
Agent Orange- Everything Turns Gray
Joy Division- Everything's Gone Green
Jawbreaker- Jet Black
Velvet Underground- White Light White Heat
The Shazam- Out of the Blue
Nick Cave- Red Right Hand
Metallica- Fade to Black
March Violets- Grooving in Green
Misfits- Green Hell
Burning Spear- Reg, Gold & Green
Minor Threat- Seeing Red
Visage- Fade to Grey
Finitribe- Forever Green
Stranglers- Golden Brown
Syd Barrett- Golden Hair
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club- Shade of BLue
Stiff Little Fingers- White Noise
D.O.A- Great White Hope
Jefferson Airplane- White Rabbit
The Cramps- Green Fuz
That should get us started.

You've got to have Purple Rain on there. Yellow submarine also. Dr Greenthumb is a Cyprus Hill track, I think. A lighter shade of pale might be a bit iffy.
I don't like any of those.
Two for the place names list.
Journey to Reedham by Squarepusher.
Come to Hull we've got everything... by me

Malabarista - now with added pony Posted Oct 2, 2008
It's a *whiter* shade of pale, so you'll be fine
Haven't got my music on this computer yet, I'll think about it, though...

I think we should just take charge (this is your thread after all and bod knows no one else should be awake at this hour) and declare those points!
I'll think of more tomorrow after school.
Had an odd moment on wednesday when moi, the grumpy thirty-something, arrived at school. Just in time to watch a fellow student (and a friend) get dropped of by mommy. Ah bless. Can you imagine just how old and decrepit and just how over I felt? Mature student, my arse. In my next life, I think I'll just do things in the 'right' order.
