Hiya Kaz and Abbi!
I'm not going out tonight after all, plans fell through as the y often do. K., whose band I was supposed to see play, told me it's no big deal, there will be other gigs. I'm slightly annoyed at having to work tomorrow after all, but I wasn't completely decided one way or the other, do I want the free time, or do I need the extra money. My mind was made up for me, saves me the trouble.
I love spring flowers, but don't like having cut ones. They bother my allergies more when they're cut, because when they're dying they release more pollen or something like that. Besides, potted ones last longer. The blooms opened up today, and they're so pretty. I am feeling kind of full of spring. It's my favorite time of year besides autumn. Right now the only real hope I have is making it through this crazy time at work without burning out, and not being laid off come summer if this year is as bad as the last.

I hope Kaz's healthy plan is going better than mine. If I gain any more weight, I'll need my own postal code.
(I exaggerate, of course, but you knwo what I mean!)

Oh, I'm kind of glad that I blew off my night out in favor of an evening in. I've just watched, for the first time ever (*hangs head in shame at being a naughty film buff*), "Casablanca". There's nothing quite like having a nice glass of wine and a good cry at the same time! I can't believe I'd never bothered to watch it before, i LOVE it!! I couldn't believe the ending! Glad I bought it instead of renting, I'll watch this one a zillion times, for sure!!
Well, now it's time to throw on some tunes, it's only a quarter of nine and I get to sleep in tomorrow, don't have to be up till 5:30!
I loved some of the lines in the film... the part where Renault shuts the cafe down "on account of gambling", then collects his winnings, cracked me up! I think it might become one of my favorites soon. Must get "The Maltese Falcon" sometime soon!
*runs off to find some noisy music* (It was the Misfits when I got home, if that's any indication how I am feeling tonight!) See you all tomorrow after I get back from work.

Tune of the mo... "Whiskey In the Jar". the Metallica version. Woo hoo!!

Hey sweetie, just thought I'd give you a wake-up sorry I wasn't so communicative last night.
I watched MST3K movie this morning, f**king hilarious! Thank you for introducing me to such nuttiness! I'm hooked; hope they're going to show the series.
"Hey, from up here you can see the Cubs losing!"
I also saw The Passion yesterday, and to be honest I thought it intensely powerful and quite moving - nothing on the order of the horsesh*t debate that's preceded it. Might write up a review later.
Anyhoo, talk to you this afternoon before I go to the comedy club tonight. Have a good day and take it easy, okay?
Now I'm off to check out these guys http://www.youknowsit.co.uk
Love to all,

Well, good morning to you, too!
No worries about being tired yesterday, I was myself, you know. I have a lot of rest to catch up on. Must start getting something resembling "enough" sleep a bit more consistently.
Today should be nice and quiet, I was going to do a bit of grocery shopping but decided not to bother. There's nothing I need I can't grab on the way home during the week.
"Passion" just doesn't sound my thing, with a shortage of spare time and the cost of going to the movies, I think I'll wait for the rental.
Glad you enjoyed MST3K. I had a feeling you'd appreciate it. How many of us have watched a movie, and muttered sarcastic coments at the characters? They do ome up with some goods ones!
Hope everyone else is having a decent day today. I've only just gotten up a short while ago, have opened all the windows and am making a pot of coffee. I was thinking of starting "The Professor and the Madman" today, it's not too long, maybe I'll take it to the park and chill out there for a bit.
Not much else going on today. Did a bit of retail therapy again yesterday and that nifty little shop with all the wonderful handmade gifts from "exotic" places. Got myself a few trinkets, the coolest of which are a hookah shaped like an elephant's head from Thailand, and an ashtray with a photo of the Christ in it, which bears the admonition "Jesus hates it when you smoke".

Tsk, tsk, Krispy. Naughty!
We've had a power outage today. I thought perhaps the high winds (the Windy City is exceptionally so today, it seems) had taken a power line down or something, but I heard on the radio that a car had hit a light pole down the street. People do drive strangely around my neighborhood, it's an ethnic melting pot of sorts, and everyone seems to adhere to the traffic laws of their country of origin.
Anyway, the lack of electricity meant no hooting, and no TV, so I've spent the early afternoon on the couch with "The Professor and the Madman". So far, it's been riveting! I would love to go straight out and find an OED for myself, but at twenty volumes it's got to cost a pretty penny!
It's nearly 70 degrees here today, the sun is shining, the winds are outrageously strong, birds are singing (when they're not blowing away), and my roommate is being an enormous pain in the ass...
"How am I going to make coffee if the stove won';t work?"
*PC bypasses electronic ignition and lights burner with a match*
"Oh."
And so on and so forth, ad infinitum.
Hope everyone else is having a nice Sunday!

Incidentally, I've also given in to the urge to splurge on another new handbag. It's a cool black vinyl-ish one with a Jolly Roger and some Japanese charachters I've yet to translate. What's wrong with me?!

Argh! I meant to type "characters". What's up with my spelling lately? Must be the wine doing the typing...

hiya
I've never watched Casablance, or any of thise well-known black and whites that everyone raves about! I have trouble enough keeping up with the new stuff!
Health Plan is dreadful, week one lost a kilo, week two lost another kilo, weeks 3 and 4 put them back on and went up and down a lot. Week 5 finally lost another kilo, whether it will stay down for more than 1 day remains to be seen. Its impossible, disheartening etc etc.
Slept till mid-day today, very tired all day, slept for a hour earlier and can't wait to go to bed, once my slendertone has finished. I have not been so tired for yonks!
Shame your plans went wrong PCandy, but at least you enjoyed a restful weekend!

Hiya Kaz! It's good to see you! I'm sorry you've been so tired, hope you'll have a great night's sleep tonight. Don't get discouraged yet about your health plan, it hasn't been that long yet, I'm confident that one day out of the blue you'll see a massive difference. That's what happened with me after I got out of hospital and lost those 55 lbs. Suddenly, one day, my pants fell off when I stood up.
I've been grateful for the restful day today. In some ways I'm counting the days till the overtime's through, yet in other ways I dread it. There's nothing quite like financial instability to spice up your life!
Casablanca was great. I've got loads of old black and white flicks, I love all kinds of films from the cheesiest to the most disgusting to some of the all-time greatest. I don't know if it's a huge appreciation for the art of filmmaking, living vicariously, or a little of both! I'd love to sit and watch a movie with you Kaz, any movie. Thanks the gods Krispy's such a videophile. Otherwise I'd bore him, spending my time off work either in the kitchen, with my nose buried in a book, or glued to the TV watching some movie or other. I'm such a hermit!

I know what you mean, luckily for us I love to read and Moonglum loves to kill things on the computer, so I get some time to do what I want1

I can relate to that as well, it is nice to be able to do your own thing and have the person you love in the next room, doing theirs. How nice to have space and still feel close at the same time.
I'm home all alone just now... which I love to bits and kind of hate at the same time. It's p*ssing down rain, as I knew it would, and I'm listening to the Hoodoo Gurus. (Those Aussies make great wine and good music, that's for sure!)
Have a good night, my dear.

I like African Queen even more than Casablanca.
Although Ingrid is prettier to look at.

Hang in there Kaz takes big plans a while to fully kick in

I've never seen African Queen, but now I will have to! Thanks, Abbi!
Yook me nearly three months last time for the diet to kick ion. Wish I could remember that now when I get discouraged.
How lovely to have your hbby reading in the same room. Abbi, I've been having some dounts recently only another girl could speak with me of, and what you just said, and Kaz, has helped. I wish so much to speak with you in person sometime, but I hate to impose!
Key: Complain about this post
