And ain't it about a b***h that on the nights I can keep myself awake, no-one's around for me to bother! I'm tired but kind of lonely, had a glass of wine earlier and just poured myself a second. Bummed a Xanax off my roommate so I'm guaranteed a decent sleep and hopefully no aches and pains tomorrow. Yesterday was pretty bad, everything hurt and I was so tired I wanted to throw up. I hate having days like those. I also hate whining and feeling badly about having those kinds of days when so many of you here have nothing else but *those* kinds of days. Everyone always tells me how tough I am, but I'm really just such a big crybaby!
Anyway, nothing interesting today, just more of the same, except for finding the gorgeous plant. I might bring home a couple of daffodils tomorrow, too. I think some more plants around the place would be a real pick-me-up. That reminds me, I've got to feed my crazy fish and put their light out for the night. My fish are so weird, they nibble my fingers when I feed them, and I wake them every morning by switching on their light, wriggling my fingers in the water, and saying "Wake up, blimey fish!"
S'pose I'll head off to bed now, then, and listen to my fountain in the dark, while I wait for the Xanax to kick in. Hope everyone has a good night, keeps safe and well, and has a good day tomorrow. See you then.

Hi PCandy, I haven't been online because I have been frantically reading Secret Life of Bees, trying to finish before our book club meets Thursday. I am going to have a super busy weekend too - going to see Ladykillers on Friday, and Eternal Sunshine on Sunday! Any chance you will see either this weekend? It would be fun to talk about on Monday.

PS I love the way you wake up your fish! A fishtank is good feng shui.

Hey I wasn't trying to imply that everyone's too busy for me or anything like that. Not by a long shot. Just bemoaning the fact that I keep missing everyone!
How's the book going? It sounded interesting, when we talked last week, but you'd just started it. Wish I had time for a book club... but that's okay, I get enough good recommendations to do lots of cool reading on my own. Fill me in on some plot details, and maybe I'll check The Secret Life of Bees out at the library one day soon. I should be around some at the weekend.
I don't expect to get to the movies at all this weekend, but I am *dying* to see Eternal Sunshine. Maybe, if I do wind up taking this Saturday off, I'll head out and see it Sunday, I don't mind seeing a film on my own. Some of my co-workers have seen it, and said it was brilliant!
Well, time to wake my fish (so you remembered what film that line is from, JEllen?! I'm not surprised!) and then run for work. I haven't even got my hair dried or my boots on yet. Toodles!

Finding time for here is getting a lil difficult just lately!
East coast is fine last time I looked...barely get time to look at mi ass.... nevermind elsewhere!
Vanilla sky, we finally got around to watching it last night and we have seen it afore. I got this great lil spanish subtitled movie out ages ago and it is well based on that! The hubbie is the one who recognised it first and we checked out the extras on the DVD which confirmed it..
Cold here, just barely above freezing...but nice n' sunny...well must dash...
Cheerios for now!

Hi PCandy
I stayed on till 12.30 last night, I probably just missed you. Bet you are looking forward to a proper weekend break. The little gerbils are running about, its dark in here, its hailing again outside and I have to go out in it - poo.

Hiya Kaz, JEllen, Vixen, and anyone else who's been reading along. I'm feeling a bit grumpy that a certain person hasn't been replying to my journals, I'll bet you ladies know who it is. Am I being unreasonable, expecting to see a certain someone pop in and say *something*?
I hope you were all right out in that hail, Kaz! It's been raining here today, but no hail, knock wood. This part of the country is called "tornado alley", though I've never seen one hit the city. I hope you made it home all safe and sound!
I'm sorry your stomach pains are still so bad. I've lit an extra candle for you, and did a little blessing for you today to help you heal up well, and quickly.
As much as I can use the extra money that I'd get working Saturday, I would very much love a two-day weekend. I haven't made up my mind yet, we shall see... you know me, I'll change my mind at the last minute. I was thinking of telling my boss not to schedule me, but I might show up anyway if I can get up.
Vixen, glad to hear things are okay there, though I can relate to being too busy to see your own behind, and I sympathise. I was thinking of you today at work (I was thinking of lots of you!), hoping your week has been going all right.
Please let me know what you think of Vanilla Sky. I'm not a big fan of Tom Cruise (he is in it, right? Sometimes I get confused about details). I haven't seen it but have been thinking about doing so.

hellboundforjoy Posted Mar 25, 2004
Vixen, do you remember the name of the Spanish film? How was Vanilla Sky? I've heard mixed reviews and I just read something about it and the other film it was based on but I don't remember what it said about them or even what they are about. I just add that to the list of things to look up when I'm finished going through the my h2g2 backlog here.
Psycho, you are so busy, it is not surprising that you should have days when you are extra tired or achy. I get like that if I have to get out of bed before 9 AM! Hope you are feeling better!

Something?
Sorry sweetie, I always read your journal entries but sometimes it seems a forum for the girls, so I don't always know what to say..
Talk to you tonight love

Not to steal Vixen's thunder, but I believe Vanilla Sky was adapted (and pretty closely at that) from a film called Abre Los Ojos, ("Open Your Eyes"). It sounds decent enough, I'm just not what you'd call a fan of Tom Cruise. I've been thinking of seeing the original film, but as it's about a horrible car wreck and the tragedy and misery involved, I haven't been in quite the right frame of mind for it. if you know what I mean
Krispy, there's no need to apologize. I'm not irritated with you or anything, just grumpy in general that I haven't heard much from you over here... I haven't got as much time for sitting in from of my own computer, and I'm not allowed fun on the one at work (even if I had the time, which would never happen anyway), so I've been a bit slack in the email department. It's a real blessing for me to be able to talk with all of my friends here. That includes you! Besides, these girls are really, really cool. They won't bite. That's my job.
Hi, Hellbound! Good to see you over here, thanks for saying hello. I'm feeling okay, I get a bit achey sometimes when my fibromyalgia's acting up, but it always sorts itself out in a day or two. Thank you for the well wishes. How have you been doing? I've read some of the things you've been talking with Kaz about, I think I'd like to check out some of those online resources.
Well, I should be heading out for work in about 15 minutes and I'm sitting here in my underwear, so I suppose I'd better get a move on. Have a great day all, be safe and have some fun. See you soon!

Hi PCandy, I think Vanilla Sky and the original Open your Eyes were both very good. Penelope cruz was in both which in an interesting link. It does involve a car crash, so only see when you are feeling up and happy. I do not think it is too bad, and that you could cope if feeling good. If anyone disagrees with me, please say.
Maybe you should try writing a girlie journal and a blokey journal, I wonder how you would change the words to fit that!! Then everybody would be happy!
The stomach is getting better, as are the back and chest spasms. Thank you for doing that for me.
I thought of you when Hellbound mentioned that site, it does sound interesting doesn't it!

Hey....
Yeh, twas called 'Open your Eyes' and I liked both movies Tom Cruise was ok in it, but if asked to choose, the original spanish version is better.
Pc, if seeing carwrecks still affects you, leave it for a while, mebbe watch with some friends or your lover later on, and not alone
It's chucking it down right now......n' gotta do missions on foot today...yeuch!

It's okay, there's no need for a separate journal.. just please don't ask me for any advice on shoes Those ones are FINE.
I can have pretty trenchant views on movies though, so that's probably my safest angle. I'm very much looking forward to The Passion which is due any time now.

What is this with women and shoes? I hate clothes shopping, just get the essentials and go to a bookshop, or candle shop or cdshop instead, or even food shopping - all much more interesting!! I have read so many articles assuming that all women are the same when it comes to loving shoes, my trainers are fine thanks, I wear stuff until it fulls apart, unless I get too big for it

psychocandy-moderation team leader Posted Mar 26, 2004
I'm not big on clothes shopping either, except in rare instances where I stumble across something I've just *got* to have, it's pretty much the second-hand shops for me, so long as it's presentable and not too badly worn out. Oh, and no stains!
Shoes, on the other hand, I have way too many and can't ever get rid of any. Which is weird, since I usually rotate between four pairs.
I will check out Open Your Eyes one day soon, maybe Vanilla Sky as well, either when I'm feeling up and not too tired, or when someone else is there. Thanks, you guys, for letting me know if you think I could handle it or not. It means a lot to me to have people who care for me like that!
Kaz, so glad you're pain is subsiding- I'm off to read your own journal now!!
Hi to all of you, and I did manage to get clothes on today though I ran out without any makeup so I looked horrible! (Actually, no-one noticed except for one person, who commented on how lucky I am to be able to go without! )
s and to all, and special s and es for Krispy!

Oh, and here's something cool, albeit relatively trivial, about today!
There's this nifty "health" food grocery across the street from my work. They've got lots of organic, natural, and vegetarian foods, including some great prepared meals which can be heated up quickly, but without all of the preservatives and stuff. And their stuff is no more expensive, and oftentimes less so, than the regular grocery stores! Well, anyway, I usually go there to get environmentally friendly household stuff, bath and feminine type stuff, etc, odds and ends of foodstuffs, and I also get my wine there, as they buy direct from the bottler and they're dirt cheap. I've got a bottle of a lovely Verdillac (sweet and smooth french white) today which cost only US $5.99!
So, I went in today on my lunch break for a quick Pad Thai with tofu, a couple bottle sof wine, and some washing-up liquid, and I bought myself a potted tulip for my desk at work. It's got three beautiful blooms on it! It brings a bit of the outdoors, indoors, which is nice since I can't get out much during daylight just now. It really cheers me a lot to have it right there in front of me, along with the pretty little bamboo plant I've got on my desk as well. The littlest things can bring a bit of sanity into the craziest of days!
Just thought I'd share that with you all, I'm a big dork to think anyone will care about my tulips, but it was a really big deal to me. When I look at it, I think of all of my friends here, who are like beautiful flowers in my own little garden. All of you brighten my days and my life as much, and then some.
Oh, and I'm supposed to give you all some love from Krispy, and his thanks for supporting and being here for me. You all have my gratitude and love for sure!!

NIce store offering healthy quick meals! I really like that idea.
Aw flowers! Lovely spring fever treat to buy.
I have a nice round bouquet of daffodils in the yard.
They always remind me of ladies in 1800's spring bonnets

That sounds really positive, healthy ready made meals and flowers at work!
How are you feeling? Full of hope and spring maybe?
