thanks for the well wishes, Terri and FF!!
I meet with them tomorrow morning at 9:00 (it'll be around 5:00 PM by you, Terri, by that time), discuss some stuff, take a couple of "tests" (i.e., process a Word document, no prob; process an invoice, no prob; muck about in an Excel spreadsheet, no prob unless I have to create a new one, in which case it's been so long I'm totally out of practice...). I will report back tomorrow and let you know how it went and if I have any feedback yet.
"Clue" and "The Blob" are great movies. Did you know that Mr. Boddy in "Clue" is played by Lee Ving, of Fear? Useless info, just one more service I offer!

20 minutes till my meeting... then I've got a big pile of reports to run which I'll be a bit behind on, so I mightn't be back online till this evening after K goes to band practice. Have some errands to run after work first. Will let y'all know what transpires as soon as I am able!
Meanwhile, everyone have a happy Friday!

Hi JEllen! Thanks!
There's one other internal candidate in the running, and they're not looking outside the company. So I have at least a 50/50 chance.
I have a second interview on Monday, and I imagine they'll check my references after that. Details will come as I get them... but please, everyone, do keep fingers crossed, as I really need this pay increase, as well as a permanent position with good benefits!
Well, I'm outta here in a few. I might be online later this evening, if not, enjoy your evening, everyone!!

>So much for kneeling all day<
Well, there goes your social life!
Thanks to you all for the good luck wishes... how can something good not come from so many good thoughts?!
So, a few other little update-like bits: I was reconciling the checking account statement last night and found I'd forgotten to record one of K's payroll deposits earlier this month, so after living quite sparingly last week because I thought we were running a bit tight- we actually have extra this week.
A friend gave us a wall hanging he'd found at a garage sale, one of those wooden ones with a picture on paper varnished onto it. It's got orange and rut-colored roosters, and while roosters don't play heavily into the decor, it certainly adds color, and we're both fond of orange. Where to hang it?
Going to see "Corpse Bride" this weekend, most likely the 11:30 PM showing to avoid the larger crowds. It's playing at 3-Penny Cinema, which I prefer because it is smaller and older, as well as the larger multiplexes, so we've three nearby to choose from.
Well, I'd better , check the other new postings, and get to the grocery store and post office. Have a happy Saturday, everyone!!

Thanks, Edward!
I've been losing postings around here the past few days as well. Hmmm.
Did a little retail therapy today, got a DVD of the 1925 "The Lost World" for $5, finally grabbed a copy of Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros' "Streetcore"... and also was a brave girl, crossed the indiekid barrier, and picked up a CD each by Stereophonics (so-so, I think the songs I liked by them must be on an older album?) and the Killers.

... and I have to admit that I'm enjoying this Killers CD quite a lot. I think it was Number Six and Edward told me that these guys were OK... I really dig this album!!

Oooh i have Stereophonics, the green one "Just enough education to perform" one of the few that survived the Great CD cull; would you like me to send it to you? After all those WONDERFUL ones you sent me which have brought joy into my life & dismay & bewilderment into the neighbours & vikings, it's the least i can do!!!!
I really really loved this young dread wandering past who beamed & did at me when i was booming out multibassesst Tosh this afternoon; really thought of you "YO! Chicago invades Angoulême!"
zdt*now onto Talking Heads. Liked the Terrorists; good mélange of reggae, ska & punk; nice one!

Sure, I'd love that Stereophonics, and Mister Midnight. One or two samples of Celtic stuff should be ok, I haven't listened to much Celtic stuff previously so I'd better make sure I like it before I get a whole bunch.
Thanks, that'd be really of you!
And I'm glad you're enjoying the music, and the neighbors are too!
We went out for sushi last night with five other people. I had some veggie maki rolls. It's amazing how you can spend so much money on a sushi dinner and still leave hungry. But, it was fun. And we saw the late, late showing of "Corpse Bride" last night as well. It was cute!
