h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Some of you may know Snowy, Ryans some of my older friends here have even met the vertual Snowy, as Ry used to take her everywhere with him.

After he died Snowy went to live with my sister, until she had her baby and snowy then came to me.


She is about 15 years old now, last night I had to carry her to bed, not unusual you might think, but I live in a bungalow and have no stairs, she just couldn't get up from where she was laying down. She was all shakey and her legs wouldn't support her, I know that her legs have been dodgy for a while and she has struggled when it's been really cold or damp. But after last night I don't think it will be long before I'm making one final visit to the vets.

Of course I remember Snowy, she even has a special corner in the greenhouse of the ship...

it's ok Nicky she's had a good long life, she's not going to live forever now is she?

And when that moment comes, you'll know in your heart that you are really offering her peace. It's small, but it IS a comfort.

My dog knew we wouldn't have been able to put him down... he went quietly in his sleep.

Snowy is a fab dog and my thoughts are with you

She will always be on the ship and there will always be a drink for her in the bar

I had a cat called Snowy... Ironically enough, the exact same thing happened to her...

Oh Cal! I just saw this while hunting for Jack.

It must be hard to see her that weak. It will tear me up the day that I lose (or must let go of) . Since she and Snowy are of the same vintage and similar breed I know her time comes as well. My heart goes out to you both.

*gives Snowy one of Goldie's nice cookies and scritches her behind the ears*

apart from not being able to take walks, she has infact been ok since I wrote this journal batty so, not to worry

Maybe I should send you some of 's vitamins and such when I send my package.. which I forgot to mail yesterday..

Yeah. I bet. I'll order some extra vitamins (I need to order s anyway) and I'll wait and send the package when they arrive.

Have you taken her to the vet's? I just took Goldie again and her blood work was fine. She's still anemic but not as much as she was last time.

I have her on vitamins for the anemia, medication for her arthritis and even found dog food with glucosamine and chondroitin in it already. She's still spending most of her day doing an impression of a rug but she gets these happy puppy like spurts of energy going and it's those we take advantage of.
