The Death Gate Cycle is about a guy called Haplo who is sent by his master to disrupt all worlds into choas so his can waltz in and take over.

He's part of a bitter race who were locked in a labyrinth world by another race after their war.

Haplo and his master are one of the few to actually escape.

The Death Gate is the thing that links all these different worlds together.

Each world is a different element... wind, fire, earth and water.

American.

It really is a great saga.

Humans, Elves and Dwarves are the Untermensch- the lower peoples.

Haplo's race and his enemies' race are, in effect, demi-gods...

Oh and Haplo is also a bounty hunter. More than a reason to buy it since he's hired to kill a king's son... by the parents. And these aren't spoilers!

No, no. The fact that it's fantasy genre, it's not all that fantastical.

It's nothing like Tolkien.

Look it up on the net if you can. The second book is definately called 'Fire Sea'...

The Death Gate Cycle sounds suspicously like a parallel of nazi germany smiley - bigeyes Particularly if the 'lower races' are translated from german as 'under people'. smiley - bigeyes Sounds good though smiley - biggrin

Ever read Maus or...

damn can't remember the name of the book. Gives you a great insight into the mind of a nazi soldier though, and it's all true.
