Popeye
Posted Sep 19, 2006
How appropriate that on talk like a pirate day I have (without any forward planning) managed to develop arms like Popeye after his spinach.
No - before you ask I have not been working out and you're making me even thinking about that. I made the most basic error of re-entering the garden again on Sunday.
Yes I did, yes I know the dangers, and yes I should have learned from my mistakes, but I did it - I had a new fence which needed painting and I just walked out there and did it on Sunday.
However, someone had wired the midges off that I'd be coming and I was bitten - not once, but twice.
Midgie bites are hardly on a par with clegg bites I hear you cry - in fact they're almost nothing - except if you're me apparently.
By Monday night both bites had started weeping and while I have one bite on each arm, my right arm is swollen at the top and my left arm is swollen at the bottom - so the effect is a slightly lopsided Popeye - with stuff oozing.
Both bites are obviously infected and I'm putting off going to the for more horsepills - why oh why oh why me - again.

My Day In The Sun
Posted Sep 14, 2006
Well, I have enjoyed my first day on the Front Page with my first effort Sprites.
What can I say - fame at last - I told everyone - and even had my work colleagues read it.
I suppose this is another milestone in my ageing process - instead of getting excited about celebrity gossip or the next big boozing session I'm going to - I now get excited by - Look what I've written.
Now I have to go to work tomorrow knowing that all the young girls there will be going - What is she on sprites indeed
she wants to get a life.
Well - who cares - I'm happy - and my day in the sun has passed all to quickly.

Weird Stuff
Posted Sep 12, 2006
Ok the jokes over - whichever one of you pranksters is slipping into my house and moving items without my permission must cease and desist forthwith.
It all started a few weeks ago when the little bit out of the bottom of the kids phone went missing, it wasn't where I'd left it, and no-one had seen it. It must have been missing for about 3 weeks when it just turned up *poof* there it was just where I'd left it, searched for it, given it up for lost - there it was.
This was followed by at least 4 other similar incidents involving, nail clippers, latch for the new gate, hammer, sim card and most frustratingly the kids birth certificate (which I needed to present to the school on Friday with her application for an exam - but the thing didn't reappear until this morning).
Now the really frustrating thing about this is that these items are turning up in places I've already looked - several times - and they were not there. Its also pretty annoying that I was the last person to have them before they went missing.
So, a joke's a joke and oh how we all - but stop it, stop it now.
P.S. If you have the tin opener - we need it - bring it back

Happy Holidays
Posted Sep 7, 2006
Well, we had a great week in Tenerife, the weather was splendid and it was just what we all needed.
We saw some great shows, and I even hugged a python - a real one, and have the phots to prove it.
The and
flowed and the nights were even better.
I even managed to avoid any mishaps (bar spilling the odd drink or two)
It was over all too soon, we arrived home on the Sunday night and had to be in work and school on the Monday morning .
Still, within a week or two I'm sure we'll all have recovered our strengh and caught up with our sleep
Boy - I need a holiday

Relax
Posted Aug 23, 2006
It's been such a disturbing and distressing week the instruction manual has booked us a holiday to Tenerife.
So I've spent most of today ironing and packing coz we're off on Sunday.
We'll be back the following Sunday just in time to go back to work and school.
I'm really looking forward to it, I think we all need to relax and chill out.
