Vacuum happy sings
Gliding over thick carpet
The kettle bubbles
Fresh air streams in cool
Curtains play peekaboo dance
The room stretching yawns

Thank you dear friend for cleaning up
I've neglected it and need a whup
To get me there - back in the mood
For writing, rhyming, feeling good.
So this old spot might do the trick
The inspirational switch will flick
So I'll be back to the same old form
And writing stuff will soon be norm.

The fire alight
a comfy chair
Some old loved tales
with friends to share
A drink in time
With friends that ryhme
Forget the world
All's to be heard
Is warm conversation
Outside the cold wind blows
Neither heard or seen by us
In here the light shines
On warm colours and bright eyes
Sharing of stories and ideas
That are left standing like waystones
Along a mountain path
Inspiration with every new breath
Of sweet clean fresh mountain air
Relax, a change, a break.

Pretty poems all in rows:
Loft does write them all "just so".
BTW for all you poetry lovers viewing this thread, this Christmas, I managed to hint around successfully for a copy of Linda Pastan's "Queen of a Rainy Country." I'd heard a few of the poems, and so far the collection has definitely lived up to my considerable expectations.

Fairy Queen art thou real?
If thou art, canst thou feel?
Around about, for thy wand.
Cast thy spell banish despond.
If thou would, i would promise .
To give thee, a lingering kiss.
Oh no please dont run away.
Twas meant in jest,oh please do stay.

Flippin' 'eck, says fairy Queen
Dangers lie here, I have seen
Kissers gonna be kissing me?
I think not it's time to flee
Pass me back my fairy magic
I've no time for kissing, tragic
Yes I know but hey
Fairies have a busy day
There's wishes, dishes, all good deeds
I'm meeting other people's needs
And you would dare to plant a kiss
Sorry .... I can't stay for this

Alas alack
My breath is fresh
as a mountain stream
My lips are pink
and dribble free
Oh what, can; the problem be
My kisses are the friendly sort
excepted freely by most most
is there a reason
I am rebuffed
let me think before i'm huffed
tis no good
it makes no sense
Who would not want to place
There lips as token of dear friendship
On my beardy face

Oh my dear, I hate to say
The source of you problem and dismay
Is staring you right in the face
Tis that beard - it's a disgrace
This mornings breakfast hiding there
And little critters without a care -
Face mites irritating you
And some unspecified green goo
So kissing could be a little rash
- or the cause of one - so I must dash.

Hop and skip and jump ,
Grin wide like a Cheshire cat,
Chase the pace,
Catch and tickle,
Roll on the floor and laughter,
And then after?
Come plant one here on my silk smooth chin,.

Fizzymouse- no place like home Posted Feb 14, 2008
My goodness, so you have a chin
Yes indeed, and what a grin
the ladies will be chasing you
To catch you for a kiss or two
And feel that skin; silky and smooth
You've really found that fashion groove
Bet it's cold without it too.

Look straight as i veer off the road
Get stuck as i feel like a toad
Scrambling up the bank onto the highway
Run over by traffic coming myway
Which was not there before
Therefore wherefore is myway
Look straight ignore each small byway
Blinkers on to the mudfilled fields each side
The sun is ahead the horizon calls
Breath deep stand tall walk on no more falls
The road is sunbaked dry the breeze cools my warm face
Straight ahead there is no need to race
A comfy chair a warm drink served by a kind face
Awaits at my journeys end
A familiar voice
A familiar name placed on my head
By familiar eyes
Which shine with familiar grace
Hi Fizzy , just trying to remind myself of the straight and narrow
You over that bit of writers block? Or was it just the lull before the storm?
When we finnish
It is hard to know where
to begin again
Once sung
should we sing again
Start a new verse
Or a new song

We really didn't need it
why'd you give your life for that?
A photo in the paper?
- Your obituary fat
with complements and praise
from the paymasters who knew
that'd you'd go and do your own thing
borders? politics? not you.
Your family they all suffer now
not knowing how it went.
Did you fight for life and struggle?
Was there torture - was it swift?
Did you call out for your son, your wife,
your mum, your dad or god?
Will they ever have you home again
To pour out all the grief?
While your motives they were good and true
The price you paid was high
For a picture in the paper
and no chance to say goodbye
We really didn't need to see
a picture at that cost
In murky, cloudy circumstance
a loved one to have lost.

Lips move faces act out conversational ballet
I watch and listen to two conversational dancers
I hear silence and half understanding
I feel like jumping in but i cannot swim
The wind blows from behind them
We shiver : one , two, three
Hands move to paint the words brilliant colours
I see the colours but the words are cipher to me
Like twigs thrown into the fast paced stream
And now unseen, joining the brilliant sun on the horizon
A sheet of rain drives in
Wet we head for cover : one , two and me
Eyes wide smile and sing a quiet song
Tears wash over cheek like slow conductors battens
A stare shouts and yells with mouth tight closed
Every word and meaning translated , a fruit laden orchard
The sun breaks, coldness conquered by the warmth
As friends we hug: one, two, and three

Visitors from foreign lands
Playing children in the sands
Summer days are long not sunny
9 kids in a caravan - not funny.

Time on my hands
For listening to rock bands
Thata be cool
But i chose to sit
And type a bit
As my eyes turn square
