Nope, he didn't...

He did request that all Liam related posts move to his Journal.
Nobody respected his request.
Saturnine requested that all digibox related posts move to her Journal.
Nobody respected her request, or just used both threads.

That's sad, SF; The negative comments aren't aimed at any newbies -- until, and unless, they fall into the category of those I believe to be abusing h2g2; But remember, that's just me.

Regardless of how negative they were, they weren't aimed at that newbie, it seems; Thus is what I meant.

He wouldn't have fit in. He said so himself. That's why he left.
He was asked, either to at least try to fit in to h2g2, instead of trying to mould h2g2 around himself.
It's sad that it resulted in his departure, but perhaps he was the square peg in the round hole afterall.

>Uh, I believe he did Loup.<
Oh no he didn't...
The thread was started by Liam under his Devil ID...

"...instead of trying to mould h2g2 around himself."
Scratch that last bit. That applies to others who don't fit in but continue to stay. Doesn't apply in this case. Apologies.

The "I'm New and I'm having trouble with another user" thread was indeed started by the Liam character, but OH 'took charge' if you like, for want of a more respectful term, and politely asked, quite a few times, that people stop using that thread, for administration purposes surrounding the whole Liam saga.
The whole bunch of people who continue to argue THIS thread in the "I'm New..." thread should learn some respect and listen to polite requests such as OH's. Even now, the thread continues. Have some decency.

They didn't say as much.
The comments were not aimed at that one person, in fact I was addressing everyone who abuses* h2g2 by using it as a chatroom. It's sad that they took that to mean them, and as they did, probably were going to be part of the group of people who actually /ARE/ the square peg... If they weren't part of the group of people who are the 'square peg', they'll be back. You can check out any time, but you can never leave h2g2, to coin a phrase.
