I've just seen somebody say something to the effect that one group of users, PC users, must be better than digibox users.
Will you please drop that? That's not what this is about.
It is not about banning anybody! Nobody is saying "digibox users are s - Let's get them banned"! Nobody is saying EVERY digibox user is a pest! I said a large group of them are! NOT ALL. GET. IT. IN. TO. YOUR. HEAD.

"hmmmmmffff if digy box users get blocked from h2g2 theres surely a way as a pc user myself to get em back in"
Which is fine. It's the access method of exploiting a flaw in the system, which is the PROBLEM. Jesus Christ!

But your still saying that a large number of Digibox users are pests, again I strongly disagree, I know quite alot of digibox and PC users and they are all as bad or as good as each other.
I would like to know where you are getting the idea from that alot of digibox users are pests?

If I start posting the same message over and over, I'd be trolling.
Therefore, I will just point to post 221 from now on.

Xander & Anya, people have *not* been saying that people on computers can't be a nuisance. Only those determined to take offence have been pretending that that has been said. Just as they are pretending that people said all digibox users are a nuisance on h2g2. Now it could be a genuine mistake due to people not reading and comprehending what other people have written rather than deliberate misrepresentation of the views of posters but there is far too much of it. Stop leaping to false conclusions and *read* what people actually said.
On a separate note, you are making the unwarranted assumption that the staff's judgement regarding ACEs is sound. In any case the only relevant consideration on this issue was whether digibox users could access the mailing group in order to be an ACE (in case anything important should need to be said via that route).
So what TW did or did not think about access to h2g2 just didn't matter to the staff if they even thought about it at all - which I doubt. I haven't seen many people pointing out that it might be illegal until recently and they don't seem concerned about people admitting to logging on during work time. So that sets the precedent that they do not care about external acts when it doesn't suit them to care. Though there is precedent for them caring on other occasions when they want an excuse.

Nicely said?
You're all saying the exact same thing!
Does this equate to trolling if different people continually say the same thing over and over?

Oh and Xander - I base my opinion that a lot of digibox users are nuisances by their activity on h2g2. You can't say my opinion is based unfairly.
Just because you know a large of digibox users are /not/ pests, that does not mean to say a larger number /are/.

AKA,,kA,, well if you open your eyes and look what people are telling you then maybe you will see the big picture.. which is >>>
1. SSome digibox users are pests i.e Lee, but others havent dont anything.
2. Closing the link to hootoo will result in many people going off here, because they might not have access to a PC.

Very slow simulpost! Obviously this is a thread for pithy one-liners rather than considered responses.

I am just trying to make a valid point, however I seem to have been met with sarcasm, if this is the kind of chat that I can expect from an obvious PC user, then I think that my point has just been proven.

Actually, SEF *is* sticking to the main points of the thread (as defined by me as this is my journal, and my thread)...it seems to be yourself and Xander&Anya that doesn't seem to grasp what is being discussed.
Key: Complain about this post
