I'm sure my sister would recognise all these names and songs... but I'm several years older than her, and don't recall *any* of it!

Gosho - Sid and Marty were on a creative high, my man, a creative high!
Do you remember the Bugaboos on at the same timeperiod as Pufnstuf? Annoying little show. Also the horrible 'Land of the Lost' with the incredibly slow moving villan lizard race of 'Sleestax'

The only one we got (to the best of my knowledge) in the UK was Pufnstuf elwood, but I did find a bunch of Sid and Marty shows on a cable channel late one Saturday night, including Pufnstuf. Can't recall which one, or whether it was just a one-off showing, but I didn't get much out of the other shows. I don't remember what they were called

I hope one wasn't Sigmund the Sea Monster! If so rush to the nearest water faucet and flush your brain!! Look in mirror and if you still resemble this--> Repeat and to the nearest emergency room!

I think one of them was Sigmund. Can't remember if I went to bed before that one though.

They were the "Bugaloos", elwood! I thought they were exceptionally charming Brits in bug suits.
The Bugaloos, The Bugaloos
We're in the air and everywhere
Flyin' high
Flyin' loose
Flyin' free as a summer breeze
Happy as a summer breeze
*kazoo solo - my favorite part*
The Bugaloos, The Bugaloos
Flyin' free like we all could be!
Gee, that was a cheerful show.

Okay, so the main character of H R Pufnstuf was H.R. himself the mayor of "Living Island", then there was Jimmy - the kid who got lost and ended up on Living Island with his friend "Freddie the Magic Flute". Then of course the evil Witch "Witchiepoo" and her evil but very stupid henchmen: Orson the vulture, Seymore the spider and "Stupid Bat". I just LOVED that show! I always wanted Jack (the kid who played Jimmy) to sing and we used to read about him in TigerBeat magazine.
Come to think of it I didn't have much of a life as a kid either...

Thanks Michele, now I can get on with the rest of my day.

Bugaloos!*also slaps forehead*
*forehead slaps me back*
Thanks for the correction AW. I had a speach impediment as a child, when I loved that show, which prevented me from saying the title correctly. I couldn't say ,my "r"s.

*apparently missed out on all the fun*
Paul, you're about my age - you don't remember that show either, do you?

Which one? H. R. Pufnstuff, or the Bugaloos?
H.R. Pufnstuff was a character from "Beany and Cecil," which I watched and enjoyed. If he later had a show of his own, then I missed it.
I never heard of the Bugaloos.
I remember Crusader Rabbit, if that's any help.....

Beany and Cecil!!!
Now *there's* one I remember, and probably the only reason I really remember H R Puffinstuff at all.
Beany and Cecil was a great cartoon.
*happy memories*

Beany & Cecil isn't related to the H.R. Pufnstuf show, Paul. You must be thinking of Captain (Horatio) Huffenpuff, which, I have to admit, sounds mighty similar.
I don't remember the Beany & Cecil Show myself ... perhaps just a vague recollection from the age of two.
Here's a link about that program for your reminiscing pleasure:

And for those of you who are *slightly* younger than our geriatric friends , here's an informative site about the aforementioned Sid & Marty Krofft productions in this thread ...

geriatric friends, indeed!
: I guess I'll take my walker and leave this place, unless I lose my way going down the hall. You youngsters of 72 have *no* idea which end is up. (Come to think of it, I'm not sure either, but when I was your age I knew, by cracky!)

I'll be right behind you, Paul... just as soon as I can just get myself out of this chair.
I don't know why they make these things so dadburn difficult to get out of, they didn't used to make them like this.
