I would love to but probably can't afford to hop over to Befast! I'm hopefully seeing him in September anyway. (for the fourth time!) Should be good (guess the venue, you'll work out where I am, but don't tell anyone on here).

Don't worry - I won't tell anyone.
Would've been fun to do a mini-meet though.

It would- If I'm ever coming over to Ireland I'll let you know! My mum really wants to go over at some point anyway because she wants to research her family history and my grandad was part irish.

Well if you're coming this way, let me know. I can show you around a bit. Though I'm not too familiar with the south coz it's further awy, but granted nearly the whole island is south of me.

Was going to say-aren't you where James Nesbitt was brought up (I remeber you saying something along those lines?)

Yup same town. He's sometimes spotted in town. Usually coming up to Christmas. Though I feel bad coz he usually gets mobbed by fans.

James Nesbitt mobbed by fans-can't imagine that, though I suppose what with Cold Feet and everything

Oh yeah!!
I remember one of my collegues said she once saw James Nesbitt in Boots years ago, but blurted out "Oh it's that boy from Cold Feet!" or something equally clever. He just looked at her like she was a nutter and she was so embarrassed

That's really funny!
I met Howard Jones the other day at a gig. He seemed a nice bloke. He didn't say much because he was being harangued by a 40 year old fan, and I got moved on in the queue by his oppo, but he seemed a good bloke. The gig was good. I should have written something on here about it really but didn't get round to it as was doing other stuff.

I always wonder what I'd do if I saw someone famous. Dunno if I'd go up to them or nit coz I'm sure it can get so irritating when all they want to do is have dinner or buy their mum a birthday present or whatever and loads of fans keep coming up. Wouldn't want to be the one that pushed them over the edge. Think I heard Paul McCartney say he tries to be polite, but firm when he's out for dinner or something and just says to people if they don't mind not doing photos or autographs as he's having a meal.

Yeah I think that's fair dos. I would never go hassle someone when they were about their business with their family or whatever as I think that's just plain rude. I think also you get a vibe about when it's the right time to chat and when its ok just to ask for then to sign something h or to just say hi. I've had instances speaking to local artists who I've bought eps off like that.

Yeah. Doesn't seem fair to approach them while they're out for dinner or something, and epecially not when loads of others have swamped them too.

Not yet. Had a look at the website and don't think I was sure where the venue was. Wasn't one of the big venues that I'm familiar with. But will check it again and see if I can find out more. Been so busy with work and stuff it got silly.

Sounds crazy. I know what you mean about venues though. There were a few gigs locally at small places that I never even knew existed until recently...

Was looking at tickets on ebay earlier and noticed a few for Belfast venues I'd never heard of. Seems odd. Thoungh they must have had places to play in before they built the Waterfront and the Oddessy a few years ago.
