I haven't signed up to it yet. I don't quite trust it, which in a way seems daft as I'm on hootoo, but this is different.
People have told me that it's great for sharing photos with friends, but if I want to show my friends photos, I'll take the pics with me when I see them next, or I'll email them.
I also don't like the idea of uploading photos of my friends and family online for whoever to see. I know there are a lot of privacy options, but still...there could be ways around them. And besides, do you really want ot share pics with all your friends when they probably don't care that much?
I just can't see why I should sign up. I don't know how far to trust the privacy, so I don't see the point. I see most of my friends and family fairly regularly, and I have their email addresses and phone numbers anyway, so why should I sign up to *another* thing to contact them when I can email, text or phone them?

I am on there only to please a couple of friends out of the UK, but it doesn't interest me, and as for Twitter, well I get more sense from the birds
This will be my favourite place always

Yeah, Twitter seems to be an even more confusing idea. Dunno what you're supposed to do with it. Something where you text what you're doing to it, and others folllow you.
Looks like Facebook isn't as popluar as some would have us believe.

HA!
i can see the headlines now...
Your son's facebook friends list reminds me of my phones addressbook.

Why do we do that when we add people to out friends list/phone book that we don't/barely know and never contact.

i do it personally for a just in case thing. i lack care to make any good friends, but i talk to a steady amount of people. I guess it keeps me secure...and also i keep people in my addressbook to make sure the people that i don't like that call me, will show up with their name so i can choose not to answer.

True. Know there have been one or two people in the past I've kept their number stored for a while so I know it's them. But there's come a point when I haven't heard from them in a while, so it's been safe to delete it. Don't like having numbers stored for people I have to desire or reason to keep in contact with. And after a while, they might have changed numbers or whatever anyway.

Very true. I don't like Facebook either. My sister's on it, and uses it to IM her friends at college but I just don't get it. Wouldn't it be better to get their numbers and ring them???
It's all crazy

Very good point!
I recently heard of someone near me who posted on their Facebook that the baby they're expecting is a boy. Like really!! When does it stop? Wedding invites? Marriage proposals?

Haven't actually heard of it happening online yet, but I wouldn't put it past someone doing it, and soon too. They seem to use the web for everything else.

there are actually quite a few folks who have in chat sites, not unlike hootoo and wed, before actually meeting each other, only going by the threads/emails and pictures of each other
